Description

Cooking gets personal with this mini round frying pan. Perfect for Small living spaces and for preparing single-serving meals, this cast iron pan is pre-seasoned to protect the surface, and offers superior and even heating. Simply apply a light coating of cooking oil before each use. Pour spouts on either side of the pan make it easy to drain liquids from food before indulging. When you're finished cooking, it makes a great serving piece as well, whether you're having a pancake for breakfast or stir-frying veggies to complement your dinner. Plus, it can be used on multiple cooking surfaces, including stoves, induction cooktops, grills, campfires, and in ovens up to 500 degrees F. Measurements with handle: 9-1/4 x 5-3/4 x 1-1/2 inches. Hand- wash with warm water and a mild detergent; rinse and dry immediately. After each wash, rub the entire pan with a light coat of oil. Use enough oil to restore the sheen, without making the pan “sticky." Oiling the pan after each wash will help keep the iron “seasoned” and protected from moisture.

Purchased two of these 5.4 inch cast iron frying pans. I must say these pans come in handy for multiple dishes like appetizers and personal meals. Definitely you get your value for money when purchasing this product. The thickness of this cast iron frying pan is perfect for even heating. Can’t go wrong. I have read several comments relating to rust and corrosion. First things first these pans will rust if not taken care of properly. For those who have rusted cast iron fry pans it is an error on your part not the pan. Even though this product states “pre-seasoned”, I still gave this pan an additional seasoning. That is using in my case a avocado oil since it has a high smoke point. Placing the cast iron pan upside down in oven on 450-500 degrees for a couple hours. This will allow for a coating that insures easy cooking and a lite cleaning. After cooking lightly clean by wiping away anything left your pan. Never let pan air dry or leave to soak in sink. I recommend placing the cast iron pan into oven on 350-400 degrees to dry. This will prevent any rust from becoming present. Occasionally re-season pan as over time it is needed. They are a great value. They are small. That’s why I choose them. The surface is rough. I sanded one of the two, which was pretty easy. They both work about the same. I’ve never had any issues with rust even though I wash them with soap but I dry them, put them on the stove for a moment then use a thin cloth to put a very thin coat of coconut oil on them just like I do with all my cast iron pans. If your looking for very small, inexpensive pans to make pancakes or brownies, these are great. ... show more

Just like any cast iron cookware, there are certain things you need to do to use and care for this pan. Even though it is "preseasoned" you should wash and season it when you get it. Don't put cold food in a hot pan. Don't rinse a hot pan in anything but very hot water. Next, dry it and heat it back up. Rub it down with oil (I like grape seed oil). Then put it away. I bought two of these and like the size very much. They are labeled "pre-seasoned" but I use a lot of cast iron for cooking and always season new pieces. The pans arrived gray in color and now they that I've seasoned them they have a nice, dark, shiny surface. I always clean my cast iron with only water after use and give them a light coating of oil on the cooking surface before storing them.
