I got these to use on my grill. They're small enough to hold a side dish, and not take up my entire small grill. This is a set of three and comes with three pans, three wooden serving blocks, and three silicone handle covers. They're cast iron, so they're easy to clean. These are a nice set of cast iron pans. I ordered them because they are on the smaller size, and it is easier to prepare smaller portions in them. Because of their smaller size, they are also easier to lift, which makes washing and carrying them easier. They also look quite nice on the wooden base if you need to put them directly on the table for a meal. The food didn't stick to them when I used them to bake beef and vegetables. But I had problems cleaning the oil/fat after I cooked the beef. I waited for the pan to completely cool off and tried to wash it only with hot water (this is the recommended way to wash a cast iron skillet in order to preserve the seasoning). Hot water wasn't enough to clean it well though. I tried to use a towel to scrub the burned fat but it was really difficult as it had turned into a sticky jellied mass. In the end, after washing the pan with hot water and scrubbing with the towel several times, I got it largely cleaned but not completely. I am not sure if I am cleaning it the wrong way, or it is simply not supposed to be completely cleaned ever again. Apart from the difficulty cleaning it, one of the wooden bases arrived slightly moldy on the bottom, It seems they are made of bamboo and the wood had not dried completely when they packed them for shipping (see second picture). The plastic handles come really handy for carrying the pan around and taking it out of the oven, however, even with the plastic handle, you can hold it for only a short time. In 15 seconds or so of holding it you start feeling the heat even through the plastic handle. If you plan to move the hot pan for a larger distance, I recommend using both the plastic handles and an oven mitt. The wooden base works very well in keeping the heat off the surface of the table though. I put the pan on the wooden base immediately after taking it out of the oven and carried it to the dinning table. The wooden base kept the heat off my table really well. ... show more
