  • Works beautifully and is induction!
Style: Wok+ Induction Cooktop
This induction wok burner works perfectly. This review is for the induction unit with wok. If you've never used a wok on anything other than a stove of some sort, you're in for a treat. THIS is how wok cooking is supposed to be. Induction heats the wok up really fast, something you'd expect if you have an induction stove. And not just the very bottom. The wok that comes with it is not that best selling brand, but looks a lot like it and just.. works. It's round bottom, you wont' be able to use it on your stove. Don't try to cook with no oil at all; that won't work well for long on any nonstick. I've done ground beef and slices of pork, also vegetables and stirfry. Cooks quickly as it should, and perfectly without sticking. I've read reviews where everything sticks. I have no idea why, mine doesn't stick. I did wash it at first; got very little of any residue off with paper towel when drying. Now I mainly just wipe it out with a paper towel unless I'm making something with sugar in it; sugar always leaves a bit of sticky stuff. but even then, let the food cook but move it around a lot. It should not stick if you've used some oil, heating it then dragging oil up the sides with your wok tool first. In any event, just a rinse with hot water and a paper towel wipe and its all good. The only thing I might have taken any stars off for is the weight of the wok. I am getting up there in age and this was heavier than I expected. So I won't be tossing the food by picking up the wok but that's fine. I do yellow pancakes in a skillet anyway that I can flip. If that bothers you a lot, you can get a smaller wok, flat bottomed or round. I've read of those who have used a skillet on it and will be trying that so I don't' have to move it off my stovetop (I have a really small kitchen). ... show more

  • Wide heating range for coil. Center cold
Style: Wok+ Induction Cooktop
This unit has much better heating on the side areas of the wok compared to a standard portable flat top induction unit. The center is distinctively colder compared to a flat unit though but better heat distribution is a plus. For those also curious, the curve of the included wok is very minor. It's almost like a flat bottom wok which is great if you already own a good flat bottom wok since it works flawlessly with the unit ... show more

  • Stir Fry here I come!
Style: Wok
What a nice thick material wok made with stainless steel with honeycomb laser engraving. We used stainless steel utensil on it and didn’t notice any scratching. It cooked the food pretty well Stir fry beef and veggies. It is concave but sits on stove with a tilt by itself and felt safe to let it sit there on its own. It is a bit pricey at 80 dollars for the wok! ... show more

  • The Best Induction Wok Cooktop
Style: Wok+ Induction Cooktop
This is the best induction wok cooktop that you can buy. It's got a solidly constructed body with a great ceramic cooktop. The controls are intuitive and the heating element gets as hot as you can get in a home unit (1700 watts). You can even use it with flat bottomed induction-ready cookware (although I'm not sure how they do that). I've had the other brand for years and it doesn't match up in any way. Yes, it's a brand name we aren't familiar with, but it's a great product. ... show more

  • VERY NICE WOK AND INDUCTION COOKER
Style: Wok+ Induction Cooktop
Purchase this from Amazon. With few reviews I was a bit worried. However, the wok and induction burner is really excellent. Wok is very nice stainless steel with ceramic hex clad. Thru 5 or 6 Cooks it is doing well. Nice controls of temp and power. Oh high, my wok reaches 600 degrees. Makes for very good searing. I don't write many reviews. This combo is so outstanding, I felt it should pass on my thoughts. ... show more

  • A “concave” bottom hybrid wok that is Not truly non-stick
Style: Wok
Preface: I own all sorts of woks, stainless steel, ceramic, carbon steel and nonstick. And yes, I use them all. I’ve been wanting to try the hybrid wok since hybrid cookware are the latest trend, so decided to try this Abangdun wok. While it’s less expensive than the popular high end “H” brand, this wok is still considerably more than other generic brands out on the market. Also this wok doesn’t come with a lid. At the time of this review, this Abangdun hybrid wok was $66. Be aware this is NOT A FLAT BOTTOM WOK. It will not sit flat on a flat top stove. I have a gas stove with cast iron grates so I can forgo a wok ring. Make sure your stove will accommodate a concave wok before purchasing. The thing about hybrid cookware is that they are not truly nonstick like traditional nonstick cookware. You will need oil, sometimes a lot. Hybrid has stainless steel hex pattern on the cooking surface allowing the use of metal utensils. If they are not seasoned properly before cooking, food will stick. There were no instructions for care or use included with this wok (minus a star) but luckily I am familiar with hybrid cookware so knew how to season it before use. My usual test for any new wok is fried rice. Wok heats up fast and evenly. I was disappointed at how much oil I needed to keep the rice and egg from sticking to the bottom (see pictures). This is even after seasoning the wok before putting the food in. What is nice about the surface is that it’s good at releasing food. While the rice and egg stuck to the bottom, I was able scrape the food off easily. But the point is, the surface is NOT nonstick. My second test was frying an egg. I already know what the result was going to be based on the rice and scrambled egg test. If you like true fried eggs (egg cooking in oil), then you’re ok. But if you don’t like using oil to fry an egg, then stick to your normal, traditional nonstick pan. I’ve also used this wok to make bolognese sauce and it was great! Overall, I like the wok and I think it has its place in my various wok arsenal. I would actually use this wok to sear a steak where I wouldn’t with my other woks. But for stir frying, this will not be my go to wok. ... show more
