This dryer is very easy to use, and the traps are easier to clean than I expected. It is really quiet! So, if you run it at night, it won’t disturb your sleep at all. The only thing is the UPS delivery time was a week later after I fed one last treat to my dog.

    • Mess Free And Simple To Use
My wife loves this dehydrator, the only thing she loves more is the little booklet that comes with it and explains the relationship between temperature and time. She will do a small sample batch of just one rack of one fruit type. She then takes several samples of the dehydrated fruit and places them in a sealed plastic bag and lets it sit on the counter overnight. If there is humidity or water droplets in the plastic bag by morning, she knows that it will be necessary to increase the drying time by one addition hour. When the plastic bag finally makes it through the night without moisture, she will then load up every rack on the machine with that fruit having already dialed in the time. Luckily this machine is designed so well that it doesn't make a big difference in drying time if you're using just one rack or all of the racks, thanks to the large circulating fan. Just one warning, the case of the dehydration machine does get hot, and you shouldn't store anything on top of it and should leave at least four inches clearance on all sides. For effortless cleaning I strongly recommend that you follow their suggestion by lining all the trays with thin parchment (food grade paper), preferably perforated so the air flow is not hampered. ... show more

I've considered getting a dehydrator for a long time and finally pulled the trigger on this little unit. There are a number of really nice things about it. - this is a very, very compact appliance able to hold a decent amount of food - the fan is way quieter than I ever expected, like nearly silent - the unit is exceptionally easy to use There are only two issues I have with the unit -- it is a fingerprint magnet and it needs a cord minder on the back.     • obsessed - great for homemade herbs/seasonings - and for food conservation
This is one of those things you don't really realize you need until you get it. I've had to going constantly since I've got it. The only downside I've had. It does smell like something is burning the first time you turn it on, but it did go away fast. I had some fruit and vegetables going bad, so I sliced everything up, and threw it all together on different trays. Just with the things I had going bad, I now have specialty seasoning salts for cooking, and I made some for cocktails as well. The jalapenos going bad, make an amazing salt for your spicy margs! I plan on grabbing some meat to try jerky this weekend. In the summer, I have so many herbs in my garden, and this is so much easier to try them out with, and you don't run the risk of them molding. This is hands down the best dehydrator I've ever had! Things I love: the size is perfect for multiple batches, the drying screens are easy to clean, the settings are easy to manage, it comes with a recipe book and it's super quiet. We did a quick batch of fruit and it was easy to set the temp and timer and the fruit turned out great. If you enjoy dehydrating healthy little snacks or jerky, this would really up your game.     • Works very well
I was able to make Beef Jerky following the included instructions. There are a lot of recipes included for fruit and jerky. This unit fits ~ 5 lbs of beef and only takes 6 hours to dry the meat (5mm thick). Easy to clean. Comes with pads for drying more delicate food (herbs). It is also very efficient on space, fitting many racks without wasting any space. I have a chamber vacuum sealer, which made marinading and packing the meat easier and also a deli meat slicer to get a consistent cut. The dehydrator is very quiet, but the fan did have a small click noise occasionally, as if it was hitting a cable. The stainless steel finish looks nice and the drip pad is easy to clean. Highly recommended for those looking to make beef jerky or dry fruit / herbs. ... show more

I love the ease of cleaning the metal trays. My beef jerky turned out perfectly! I was able to use 3 different types of jerky flavors in this machine. Decided to treat myself and get one of these and boy am I glad I did! This has gotten so much more use than I ever imagined! I found some Pinterest recipes for jerky and we’re obsessed! We eat tons of dried fruit now too. Its the only way to get my kids to eat fruit and they love it so this is a big win! I can’t wait to make dried oranges in the winter for decorating! ... show more
