Didn’t think I would love this mower, but definitely do! It was very easy assembly, its size is ideal, wheels are great, and it bags the grass beautifully! I especially like the ease of use all around…example, all four wheels adjust with a single lever!! No more individual wheel adjustments or wondering if they’re all on the same notch! With this, it’s as simple as a single lever! The bag comes off and back on very easily…it also comes with a side shoot if you want that…or, simply nothing on and mulch up your grass. Smooth cutting right out of the box, and after about15 mows, it has started every time, the first time. Pushes easily all around the yard and hills, with big enough wheels. I didn’t want a self propelled wheel system as it’s just one more lever to worry about as you go forward and back…and that’s ok, with me given how easily it pushes. Product came damaged, but still usable. Did not come with oil and had to research how much it takes. I ran it and did my yard. Parts fell off from first use, I found in grass the next day. 1 star because it runs and wheels weren't the parts that fell off I guess. Sucky experience.

The mower came 4 days earlier than expected. Assembly was a little tricky but not too difficult. It started easy. There was smoke coming from the engine when it first started. I let it run for a couple minutes, turned it off, restarted, and it was fine. It's a heavy, sturdy mower. Nice even cut and 7 height levels to choose from. I mowed 1 acre of varying terrain. The Yardmax did a great job cutting higher grass; much better than my previous Craftsman and Lawnboy mowers. The only thing that would make it better is if it had a bar across the middle of the handlebars to make it easier to push on hills. But I am happy with my purchase. ... show more

This is my third mower in 30 years and my first mower without a Briggs and Stratton engine. And I use the crap out of mowers. My lawn has thick grass in the summer and a lot of leaves in the fall. I wanted the most powerful mower I could get without being self-propelled and at a good value. There were a few other mowers out there with similar power, but their cutting heights were limited to 3.50 inches max. This mower allows you to cut as high as 3.75 inches, which is needed for tall fescue grasses. I use the mower as a mucling mower and it does an exceptional job. The height adjustment is so quick and easy, only one lever to adjust all four wheels. It was easy to put together and after putting in the oil, it fired right up. Very quiet motor. We selected this mower for a few reasons. Our old one died. We are older people who just don't have access to haul from the store. And finally the reviews for this one sounded really good. The reviews mentioned this mower starts right up easily with just 1 pull. No it does not! The cord pulls extremely hard and you really must yank several times to get it to start. It also is advertised as a easy mower to use. Easy, ok in the fact there are no bells and whistles (and no self propelled feature). This is a heavy mower that pushes really hard. If you are older with arthritis and other health problems then this machine will feel like it is killing you. When putting together the advertising, consideration should be made that customers come in all ages, walks, conditions and so many more categories. And not everyone has a young person who can help with this task. Truth in advertising is crucial. The catcher bag broke on the 1st use at a corner where there is a weld joint. And the flap on the back to stop things from flying out is breaking off. We will never again buy one of these brand mowers and I definitely don't recommend it for anyone unless you really want a headache. ... show more
