    To try to keep our home "green" or at the very least, energy-saving conscious (you know what I mean), we try not to leave lights on all night long, even with a kiddo who might need to get a glass of water in the middle of the night. Our compromise? Since we've owned our house, we've had a strip of LED lights sitting on top of our kitchen cabinets that are always on and just slowly shifting color. It provides a nice bit of colorful ambiance when we're in the kitchen cooking and eating, and at night when the lights are off it's plenty bright enough for the kiddo to wander downstairs, get a glass of water, and get back to their room without needing or wanting to turn on all the lights. Plus, she thinks it looks pretty. I agree with her. It's a cool effect, and one we receive lots of compliments for from guests. It's really quite subtle, too, and many of them don't even notice it's gradually changing colors until they really stop and watch it for a second. This string of lights is replacing the first string which lasted for about 6 years because LEDs are awesome and have a great lifespan. These have been running non-stop now for 5 months without issue and their color shifting is VERY smooth and there's a really nice range of colors in its cycling function. ***Overall Value*** It's not the highest tech light strip or the most advanced (just works off a small IR remote) but for $17 (at the time of review) it's already provided us with a good 5-months of nightlight functionality and here's hoping it'll last for a few years more. Considering the lower cost of this particular strip, if it even lasts a year or two, it will have been worthwhile. ... show more

      • Nice but doesn't stay up

    The media could not be loaded. I got this for my 2yr old who is being transitioned to her own room finally. When I first had it up it was nice. The main issue I had was the connector piece that has to be plugged into the wall is too short. The 2nd issue I had a day later was it did not stay up (no one has been in the room at all). The whole thing came diwn with just a piece still holding for dear life. Now I just had to order some adhesive dohble sided tape to get it back up for tonight. I am giving it 3 stars for pretty lights and a remote. ... show more

    Brightness isn’t there at all. These are more setting the room vibe, not if your trying to light the place up. The adhesive works great on this roll. It does suck that if you have neighbors with lights, they can connect and mess with your lights and vice versa. Other than that they r OK.       • Work well but adhesion is a little lacking

    These went up easily and while they stayed put for a while about 3 weeks in and the adhesion is loosing it's grip. They are currently hanging in my daughters room and we've had to rehang them 4 times now.
