  • Great pick for my hair color
Color: 5N Lightest Neutral Brown
Haven’t seen the full aspect of this product but the first time using it it covered my hair and looks so natural again. I ONLY applied it to my bleached hair and alittle bit above to help blend. I wet strands down and did little by little to my hair. The results look really natural.

  • Read for Correction details~ ** Skip for Wella results
Color: 9CB Light Beige Blonde
12.18.23~ After bleaching my shoulder length hair with 2 Boxes of Garnier, the 7 level Bleach not 3, my grey and med brown roots, lifted white as snow. Followed all directions but even tho I applied roots last, should have waited til ends lifted. After years of coloring but not bleaching other than highlighting, I freaked out a bit bout leaving it more than 45 minutes. My hair was medium (level 8) blonde but had a "wash out "pink that well...didn't. So there was a bit more end lift involved bc of the ever dreaded red added aka pink base. The new growth uncolored root hair needed maybe 15 minutes. Left it just over 20. For the most was happy with the lift and results of the bleach. Would recc Garnier. If the roots didn't go white, would have continued with my highlight plan to even out. After couple weeks & lots of deep conditioning. Would highlight & use a gloss. But the roots were white and was not going to add more permanent color. Also wasn't walking around with white roots. What am I Mrs Claus? Well sometimes.. I do bake cookies but didn't start coloring grey at 20 to go white. ** Hello youtube my old friend. Hairstylist (Elle Bangs) was using Wella Color Charm demi ( which means it washes out gradually). She did a cocktail and mixed 2 colors to get the tone she wanted. I know how to color mix but didn't know demi would give same effect as perm. Maybe all brands don't but Wella did. Ordered 10NA ( the color I wanted my hair) & 9CB for roots. I have Light/Med Cool tone skin. My natural blonde friend is going white. Learned the only way to add color to white is add yellow. Even on Cool Tone skin. A glob of 9CB with a dash of 10NA (yes that's scientific term) made my white roots match. Added 10NA solo to bleached ends that still had yellow I did not want. Now my hair is a cool 10NA. The color held strong for 3-4 washes about 2 weeks. Now it's finally at the point I can highlight & gloss. Would absolutely use this again to color deposit w Color Charm Activator not Developer. Hope this ever so short novel helps you find what you needed. ... show more

  • I’m Happy But This Will Lift (Not a True Demi)
Color: Clear Gloss
I wanted a Demi that would cover my grays with a level 9-10 blonde color without coloring my natural level 7 cool bronde hair. This product did cover the grays better than any other so-called Demi because it is not a true Demi. (Remember, the damaging stuff is in the tube, not the bottle—the bottle of peroxide controls speed and other things but there is a reason why peroxide alone doesn’t lift all that well.) Even when you use the 10 volume peroxide, this behaves like a permanent color. It also has a very high PH like a permanent color. (Test it your self at different phases of the development process and you will see that very high ph.) This will NOT wear off, it WILL break your base, and you will NOT be able to remove it. (And Wella will not help you if you get into a mess with this color; believe me, I tried and their customer service was worse than bad.) All that said, I am very happy with this product. I wanted to stop highlighting because of the damage and expense and have a low maintenance, low cost color. After a LOT of careful testing and educated judgment calls, that is what I have. I use 15% 8G which is like a good additive. It is an incredibly strong color. I mix that with 85% clear. Then I mix that formula with 10 volume developer 1:2. I applied it to a few inches of gray roots. The rest of the hair had a mix of highlights and I tend to go golder than I want, so it was a level 9 streaky gold. My stylist had been highlighting to match my gray pattern, so when I applied this new formula that was lighter than my natural color yet warmer and one level down from the white strands of the gray parts, it ended up matching my lengths perfectly. (TB clear, she was dying my hair a base color and then highlighting over that, so it was a double process.) People think I’m getting highlights, but all I am doing is hitting my roots with this simple formula. And instead of having to cover my roots constantly (when I was doing double process), it is extremely low maintenance. Now, let’s be clear about this: I use a digital scale; I time it precisely; I color in sections so I can wash each section out as it hits time. I go carefully and slowly to avoid overlap, etc. most importantly, I did a ton of test strands (using the digital scale, timer, and test log) before settling on this color. I would have had nothing but years of disasters otherwise. And I looked at the test strands in several different kinds of light each time. I apply this in front of a well lit triple-mirror, but I likely have some banding in back. Finally, I am both happy and unhappy with the color. What I mean is that if I had the time and money, a double-process by a real pro might look better. And I prefer a cooler color. this stuff absolutely warmed up my cool level 7 base hairs to a brassy level 8 while beautifully covering my level 10 gray hairs to a delicate level 9-10 blonde. However, the cooler colors pick up my gray pattern in a way that says “gray,” where the gold makes the whole thing blend and look sunny and natural instead. I also figured out that the cooler colors are much darker, so a level 9 warm blonde looks like a level 9 highlight on me. The level 9 cool or neutral blonde looks like a level 7. Be careful. Finally, the cool colors also broke the base, so it ended up looking warm—or they looked artificial because you have to build a cool color from the ground up when you are dealing with white strands or else they will just look like dishwater or weirdly artificial. Anyway, my solution will be to add in some reverse teasylights, only using a cooler blonde tone so that my overall look is a little cooler but without ruining the magic of turning my white strands a truly natural-looking blonde. One last thing: the shine you see goes away on first or second wash. It is some temporary artificial thing they put in there to make you ignore the damage from the high PH. Yes, this is a great product. It works much better than a true Demi or an acidic Demi in that you can cover gray with a lighter color, but that comes with increased permanence and increased damage. Of course, it is a lot less damage than bleach. I am happy with this outcome: I went from an expensive, high maintenance color to an inexpensive, low maintenance color that looks even better. It looks like someone highlighted me to a level 9-10 in my gray areas on top of a “brassy” honey-blonde level 8 base. This formula will only get better with time because it looks perfect and natural in the gray areas, and it is allowing for a seamless grow-out of my old double-process. I wish you luck, but really, don’t use this if you are a beginner just having fun. And if you have virgin hair with no gray, treasure it. ... show more
