The first fountain I got from this brand was great but the pump just stopped working, so I looked for a new one. This one was an affordable price for me and I like the last one from this brand so I bought it. It's perfect cuz it comes with instructions on how to clean the pump so it lasts longer, plus the filters I had for the old fountain still work with this one since it's the same brand. I like that it has a light so I don't trip on it at night. Also the spout at the top pools the water a bit making the steam fuller, which is great for my cat because he would lick the top of the spout of the old fountain even though there was barely any water there. It's smart design to make the top spout deeper so now my cat actually gets more water at the top where he likes to lick it. ... show more

    • Very happy with purchase
I bought this for my cats as one of them kept making messes with their water bowl because he insisted on "fluffing' the water all the time making a mess all over the floor. This stopped that problem. It doesn't make too much noise and holds enough water for both my cats for just over a week. It was very easy to set up and seems to be working very well. I have had it for two months now and am going to order a second one as we have two floors and I want one on each floor. I did only give it 4 out of 5 stars on cleaning because it is a slight pain that I have to totally unplug the whole unit at the wall (where it plugs in behind my couch as our apartment doesn't have a lot of outlets. If the power cord was unpluggable at the unit, it's self it would be much easier. An on and off switch would be helpful for when you are just adding more water to it as you also have to completely unplug it to do that, or you will get water all over the floor. So aside from that one issue I think it was a very good value for the money. ... show more

    • Works great for 10 months
It's quite, flows very well, perfect level for a cat. Only problem is the pump will die within a year. If cleaned and maintained well every 3 weeks it will last a long time. For $20 I'll buy another one.

Perfect size for my kitty and while she is on a wet food diet she actually really loves to drink water from this! Makes me feel better knowing my kitty is properly hydrated.

Unfortunately I couldn’t return this product and get a refund. Why? My morkie didn’t like the taste from the start, so I decided to try the water myself and it had the most distinguished chemical taste. It was grainy and tasted what I can only imagine as a basic solution taste. All instructions were followed in the hopes of drinkable, dog- and human-safe water. Only now, I am disappointed, my pup has no flowing water, and I regrettably wasted $20 on absolute plastic. I unplugged it and left it powered off after a week, cleaning it with the intent to return it, and to even more of my dismay, after washing, I found that there was this deterioration of plastic material. I understand the water had to be running, but water can’t create this residue. So tell me, Veken, what chemical is going through all the pets who use this fountain?? This same chemical that literally looks like it DEGRADED plastic?? No way. Can’t believe I even resorted to even tasting the water from this. ... show more

    • Great concept, but one unit died within 6 months
This is a great product—conceptually, at least. We used two separate units for our cats on the first and second floors. The first began to buzz loudly in the 4th month... with very little water coming out, and then the pump died altogether, so we tossed it. The second continues to work, with an occasional loud buzzing noise. It is too bad because when they both worked, they were GREAT and QUIET. Having to throw one out within 4-6 months was a drag. So, we're left with the 2nd one that works, but the noise/buzzing was too much for an area near our bedroom so we brought it downstairs where we don't notice it as much. ... show more

The fountain holds a decent amount of water. I'd say a quart. The noise level is very low and the ambient light is soft and subtle. It actually makes a very nice light light. Cleaning and reassembling is easy to do but I can't say that it has enticed my cats to drink more water. This is no fault of the fountain though. ... show more

    • Water Tastes like Plastic with bitter aftertaste
Bought for my 3 cats. Works fine which is the ONLY reason I gave more than one star. It's a visually nice fountain but after 3 days I noticed my cats begging for faucet water and even caught them in the toilet drinking. Which they've NEVER DONE. So out of my own curiosity I tasted their water. It was like drinking liquid plastic and after, my mouth had A HORRIBLE bitter mouth drying affect. Yes I washed it first. Yes I rinsed the filter AND sponge before use. This isn't my first cat fountain. So after realizing the water was bad I emptied it. Washed it AGAIN. Put new filter and rinsed it AGAIN. Same with sponge. After about 2 days noticed the SAME thing. Them not wanting to drink from it. Tasted it again and SAME THING. THERE'S NO REMEDY for the issue. Had I not been observant with my cats they'd have been sick from dehydration. I would like to return it and get my money back. I've already ordered a replacement of the FIRST fountain I'd had. The Nugget. It's motor just went out after only a few months but I'd rather pay to replace parts every 6 months than worry my cats don't have good drinking water. ... show more
