We have smaller versions of the 50# model and they are terrible. Flimsy, weak, lid falls off -etc. However, the 50# model (this review) is much better. Too, the lid does not fall off once its vertical. You can let it fall right over the back and it stays hinged. If you look at the product image which shows a slightly translucent view of dog-food near the top but still a few inches down, this is what it really looked like for us when we put 50# of small kibble in it. NOTE: If you have 50# of large chunk dog food, you MAY have a different experience. Keep in mind, that size/shape may affect how well your product fits in the bin. For us, its working awesome. I love this storage container on wheels. We have a large dog who eats a lot! We were having to lug the huge bag of kibble around the kitchen so I thought something on wheels would be beneficial and this fit the bill. It is very secure so if we leave it out of the pantry our dog cannot get into it. I love that it has wheels and I can roll it to our pet's bowl station without issue. It is easy to keep clean and keeps our large 50 lb bag of dog food, and treats on top of the bag off the floor and closed, airtight so that the kibble stays fresh to the last crumb. I am about to purchase another two bins on wheels one for my tennis and flip shoes for the closet and one for my bathroom closet, to store extra soap other toiletries. I like to buy in bulk and this container will give me more space under my bathroom cabinet and I can roll it into my bathroom closet, no problems. Overall, I think this is a good container. It was quick to assemble and it’s a great size for a 50 pound bag of dog food. However, the wheels broke off a couple months in from wheeling around - second time this had happen. And maybe 2 years ago now I think, the handle broke off so I’m constantly having to put it back on when going to close the lid. It’s still in good shape, but I’m not sure I’d purchase it again to store anything heavy in it. ... show more

The dogs eat food with salmon in it, and it smells like there is salmon in it. The sack of dog food fits right in this nice container and closes airtight to keep it fresh and keep the salmon smell contained. The container came with casters, and it took all of ten seconds to put them on the bottom so I can wheel the big heavy sack around instead of lugging it. These containers are great! I’ve bought several since my first purchase. Some for cat and dog food storage. One for bird seed. Another for top soil so I can easily roll it around while gardening. And another one I use for chopped wood for our chiminea. They do a great job of staying sealed air tight. The one I have outside never gets wet inside the container. I bought this because I have back issues, I would empty the dog food bag directly from my car so eliminate the need to carry the heavy bag. Then roll the container into my garage, but after second use one of the wheels broke off, very poor quality, don’t buy!
