I use one underneath a large automatic water bowl/fountain for the occasional overspill. Multiple dogs and a cat drink from the bowl and before, water used to spill over onto our wood flooring and I would have to keep wiping it up...mold had even developed underneath the bowl due to trapped water. Since using it, the areas surrounding the water bowl remained to be dry! I use another one for my cat's food bowl as well... This is a good quality mat that is very absorbent and easy to clean! * Update - the mat has stopped absorbing. I’ve rinsed the mat left it overnight on a well ventilated rack to dry. I test it with a spoonful of water. It doesn’t absorb, no matter what I try. Now, I have to wipe the mat dry each time my GSD takes a drink. I didn’t see anything that says it has an absorbency limit. Otherwise, the mat still looks like new. 8/10/24 This is adorable! True to the word it does absorb water and not soak through. Exactly what we needed seeing as my pooch has a habit of dribbling. No more wet floor! It’s very cute and dresses up the feeding area. Also doesn’t move on the floor at all but doesn’t stick either. Picks right up to move or rinse. Lightweight and flexible but at the same time well made and not flimsy. Nice little design and it fits my cat's decor with her feeding and water bowl. I would give it a four out of five for wiping down though. When the food hardens it's a little tougher to get off. But it does the job. Just wipe with warm water and a little soap if you need to.

Looks nice, keeps everything in one place. Not as large as the advertised measurements. So get a size up if you're not sure. Takes awhile to actually lay flat. Use something heavy to flatten before you start using. It's thinner than expected, doesn't really absorb water. I wipe up spills as they occur.
