Ok, this screening isn't exactly opaque. The 1st pictures illustrates that. You probably need to double up to get total privacy. I am hopeful that the copper grommets are truly rust proof and hold up through the seasons. The provided wire ties are thin and I wish they were a little longer but they worked ok & should hold up fine. I used this to cover my side neighbor's fence which has 30+ years' growth of English ivy hanging on it. It's well-established and the weight has broken down 2 of the 3 chain link fences. Twice a year I cut back the ivy growing on, through and under the last standing chain link fence, which is on my property. It's a true bear to manage and my cheap neighbor doesn't want the expense of removing HIS ivy and doesnt take care of his back yard at all. No chemical or natural treatment kills it. Believe me, I tried everything. About 3 years ago I used a small piece of this screen doubled up to block a section of the fence where stray cats were nesting under the ivy canopy on the neighbor's side so that my dogs wouldn't lose their mind when they saw a cat. I noticed, as a happy coincidence, that the ivy isn't growing through that section of fence and feel that the screen is physically blocking it or maybe depriving it of enough light. Whatever the reason, being desperate to keep the ivy out of my yard so I put up a 50' section. And as a bonus it looks very neat! I'll need another 25' piece to finish off the side fence and I'm considering getting 2 more 50' pieces to cover the back neighbor's fence. It's just my attempt to preserve some feeling of both privacy and beauty so I can sit outside on my deck, with my dog, and not see that ugly English ivy taunting me. And instead have an attractive, cohesive looking fence line to admire. UPDATE: I did buy 2 more sections but I'm 22 feet short. Wasn't until I went back to order another section that I noticed they do custom sizes to the nearest foot. Duh!! So I got a 4' x 22' section to finish. Wish I'd seen the custom size section before. I ordered this for privacy. My neighbor's walkway to their front door runs alongside my front patio where I like to hangout. After my husband put this up it did look nice but it was VERY see through. We have decided to keep it as we didn't want to go through the hassle of taking it down and repackaging it to return it. The quality is decent but could definitely be better. Because the dogs were bitting at the chain link fence causing one dog to have a tooth pulled & the other a chipped tooth. I measured and ordered the 4' x 50' but it was a bit too small (top to bottom) for my fence. Since it was already installed, I left it on and decided to order the 5' x 50', which was a perfect fit! I put both covers on top of each because on the first install, you can still see through it. The second cover resolved that. I would definitely purchase this item again and pay a little bit more if the "sheerness" of the shade cover is improved.
