The media could not be loaded. I have several LED strip lights but this one is a new tech I guess because none of them have a rainbow color like this one does. It does all the thing any other LED strip light does but it only needs a USB plug to operate, the controller will allow you do to the majority of the functions and the APP will give you the ability to do an almost unlimited amount of sequences and color combinations. The bottom line to this is that this strip does things n9one of my other do and does it for less money so it gets a 5 Star rating from me ... show more

    • Nice addressable LED strip with flaky controller

The first thing you should know is that this LED strip light has a USB connector for power. However you need to supply the power -- no USB power adapter is included. I used a spare cell phone charger. The light strip itself is bright and works well. But the controller for the strip is difficult to operate. In theory, you can use an infrared remote control or an app on your smartphone paired via Bluetooth. But in practice, switching from one control to another doesn't seem to work: if you start by using the remote control, the app won't work and vice versa. Sometimes no controls will work (not the app, not the remote control and not even the local on/off power button). The only way to recover is to disconnect the power and then try again. I was able to set up a timed schedule using the app and no longer bother trying to use the remote control. So minus two stars for the flaky inconsistent controller. The LED strip uses addressable chips (maybe WS2812B?) so you can select light chaser effects and multicolor fades/shifts along the strip. You can identify this type of strip since there are three conductors: power, ground and data. Sometimes the marketing description says "dream color" or "segmented" to distinguish from the simpler light strips where every LED displays the same color at once. Overall it's a nice LED strip light that's hampered by a temperamental controller. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I love these strip LED lights but most are powered via an outlet and been looking for one powered directly from a USB cord. This keeps the design nice and simple and naked the bulky AC adapter for the wall. The remote is a good size and has many functions including a timer and also comes with the microphone built into the controller within the strip lights so you can play music and it will change lights and light patterns automatically 😀👍 ... show more

i ordered 3 of the 5ft, i put one behind my tv and one under my dresser and have not put the third one up yet. they worked great with easy installation and control through the app, although i wish the 5ft came with the remote. my room has a black and white theme so the idea would be that the lights would mostly be on a white setting, but switching through i noticed that there's a single purple led light on the strip i put for a tv backlight which is very annoying and noticeable. also, the led light closest to where the plug is has a strange blue tint. im not sure if it's a defect or i just got unlucky with the three pairs i got, but beware of that if it seems important to you- and if you look at the lights close enough on the white setting you can see that every other one seems like a different tint of white. the led lights are a lot more spaced out then your average led lights, so keep that in mind too that it will make them appear a lot dimmer. another thing is that the app is a bit confusing for it to be the main source of control. it seems like the kind of app you'd find on your old ipod from 2006. the bottom line is, you get what you pay for. i got the 5ft RGBIC for 5$ which seems like a great deal and hard to find. i thought it was a miracle but unfortunately you do get what you pay for. they're still great with loads of colors and patterns- but from what i've noticed, these are not suitable for long term use like i'd hoped. i did contact the seller about one of the lights being purple, i will update my review if anything changes EDIT: i contacted the seller about the defect an they sent a replacement very quickly. they may not be the best quality lights but if you get a defect you can always try again. ... show more

So I mounted my tv today and order these because I saw them on my cousins tv and it looked ez to connect and I’ve always wanted them. Let me tell you it was the best $8 dollars I’ve spent in a very long time. Lol. You can change the lights to any color you like and control via the app they give you to install. Again best $8 bucks I’ve spent sun long time. Anyway if ambiance lighting is you thing you can’t beat the functionality of these things. Hope they hold up. Happpy holidays people !!!! ... show more

I kept seeing that backlighting your tv would enhance the image. I recently got a 4k tv and wanted to maximize my experience buuuuuut cheaply. I found these and they sounded worth a try. They were easy to apply. I have them plugged into the tv usb and set up (via the tv) to only turn on when the tv is on. I don’t use any of the settings so I didn’t get a set with a remote. I played with the app a bit and it was pretty cool but again, for my purposes, I didn’t need it. ... show more
