We started with the wrist ice pack and have upgraded to almost every ice pack from this brand. Husband is very athletic and he puts on his ice packs every day. He even brings them all on vacation in a designated bag because he swears they help with his joints and pain relief. This is adjustable for different size knees and the ice pack is larger than the knee cap so it does have great coverage for the whole front joint, and it is definitely durable. Most of the product’s deficiencies are well documented in the negative reviews. I am afraid that these customers are correct. I myself have experienced very short “cold” retention. The outer construction appears to be well assembled. The gel pack and the webbing that locates the gel pack are of lesser quality. The gel pack is rather thin-walled and the pack thickness is also thin. I do not believe that this quantity of gel has adequate heat capacity to meet most customer’s expectations. It takes an hour to cool down the gel pack and it remains effectively cool for about 15 minutes after placement. The bands that are supposed to hold the brace and gel pack in place are terribly short. This was mentioned in several reviews. Different sizes would be one solution. The Amazon description page states that this device is useful for hot and cold applications. This seems to be untrue. The claim is also made that this device can deliver cool all the way around the knee joint. Again, untrue. Lastly, my package had no instruction manual. I realize that it is only a knee brace with a gel pack but, tips on gel pack placement, safety tips, optimization tips, if replacement gel packs can be purchased. I must give credit the the marketing team. They sure laid out a nice page with convincing pictures and text. My bad though. It was an impulse purchase. Had I read the reviews, I would not have purchased this product due to the the nature of some of the prior reviews. Caveat Emptor! ... show more

I was disappointed, I unfortunately didn’t read the reviews before purchasing. I loved the design of the product and it appeared to be easier to use and less cumbersome than other designs, but the engineers need to take into consideration that not everyone is slim and trim and blessed with smaller knees. If it’s going to be sold as a “one size fits all” then the straps need to be longer, otherwise they need to make sizes to account for the differences in knee circumference. ... show more

I purchased this knee ice pack for my left knee, which I will be having replaced at some point in the near future. I wear a brace, so I don't feel much pain while I have it on, but when I take my brace off at the end of the day, my knee bothers me a bit.
