These large, heavy heating pads work perfectly in our household for sciatica, muscle aches, arthritic knees/hips, heating castor oil packs, and even heating the bed on a cold night! I’ll put two of them on the bed a few minutes before turning in, then kick one down by my feet (no more cold feet!), and place the other on my any place my body aches- great for a tummy ache too. Great to cozy up and watch tv with the pack on your lap or back under a blanket. I bought two at first, then gave two as gifts, then ordered one for my neck and two more for guests to use. Everyone is happy with them. The weight is perfect for keeping the pack in place, and, like a weighted blanket, very comforting. They have held up well, and the outer sleeve is washable. Well made and sturdy, I fold one in half and microwave for 90 seconds, then take it out, flip it over so the other side gets exposed and microwave for another 90 seconds.     • XL wrap - Best size for any type of pain! Safe! Easy

I ordered the XL wrap and my boyfriend and I love it so much we're thinking about ordering another so we can use them at the same time. It's a soothing treat at the end of the day, whether you are achy or not. I get tension in my back and not only does the warmth feel great it noticeably relaxes my muscles and eases my pain, maybe as much as massage. The XL size is versatile - big enough to treat larger areas and it can be folded for smaller areas, or draped over shoulders and neck. It's not super heavy but it does have some weight to it so if you drape it around your shoulders and neck you'll want to be leaning back in chair or couch for support. I wanted to purchase something that will last for years and that wouldn't burn me. I've read horror stories about people burning themselves with electric heating pads and leaky hot water bottles. This product cools naturally so we don't have to worry about falling asleep with it on, which is easy to do. Not only is the heat relaxing the added weight of the XL makes it almost like a mini weighted blanket (the latest craze in relaxation these days). I love that the removable cover can be washed and I hope to have this product in my home for many years. I do have to microwave mine about 1 1/2 minutes longer than the directions stated. I'm not sure if that's because I got the XL or if it's just my microwave but overall it's not a real inconvenience. I just add time in small increments and test the temperature carefully with my hand to make sure it's not too hot before applying. I was very pleased that the pad was large enough and sturdy enough to lean back against in the chair to help with my back pain. It is smooth and comforting in a clean, soft, cotton cover. The only issue for me is the weight of the pad, it is somewhat heavy and not a pad I could use to place on top of me comfortably. I have placed it against my back in bed for both my back and side, and I was quite happy with the area it covered. I would suggest that for those areas, in bed you place a pillow for the pad to lean against, as lying directly on it flat underneath me, was not comfortable. In the chair, leaning back directly on it is no problem. All in all I am happy so far, and glad I purchased it. The warmth helps greatly ease my pain. Be sure to heat it carefully, and slowly at first to see how your microwave reacts regarding temperature, I heat it for 2 mins on one side and then turn it over and repeat. I fold it over on each end, to meet the middle, and then reheat by turning it over again in one piece. There is no odor. You will be happy you purchased it, I'm sure. ... show more

I never write reviews, but I wanted to for this awesome product. I have been buying the Sunny Bay XL heating pads for close to 15 years. I wanted a natural grain, no electrical cords, “safe when unattended” way to have warmth on my sore back at night when going to sleep. They stay warm for hours especially under the covers in the bed. We had 2 cats at the time I bought my first pad for myself. After a few years, when they got older; I noticed I would heat the pad up, lay it on the bed, and by the time I got to bed one or both cats were lying on my side of the bed on the pad. Then my husband kept borrowing my pad for his shoulder. Finally I decided to buy everyone their own, in their own colors. So I ordered 3 more. My senior cat, as he got older, became noticeably excited every time I’d heat his up. I suppose he knew his old body felt better lying on it. Many pet-bed warmers are electric but I didn’t want electrical cords for safety reasons. This way I can safely heat it up for the cat before leaving the house without worrying about leaving a cord plugged in. The covers are washable. So it’s easy to keep them clean. I replace the heating pad only if a seam eventually become loose and I find grains on the floor OR after a few years of microwaving the grains eventually shrink. I keep the covers of older heating pads because they are extra covers for laundry days. As you can see from the photos we have a 3rd family member who didn’t have “his own”. He does now of course. The pads are well made and stay together longer than other grain/rice heating pads brands I have tried. Yay! I do love when I find a product that doesn’t need improving, so I can stop looking. ... show more
