  • Is it Worth the Price? Only if You Enjoy Eating...
Color: Grenadine
Frankly, I bought this without knowing how essential it would become. I feared it would be a very expensive dust collector. Couldn't have been more wrong. And, I had no idea what incredibly good food was in my future. Quality? Impeccable. Versatility? Duh! We've fried, braised, stewed, baked, fried. The ceramic coating makes this thing act like it's nonstick. Wait. It is nonstick. But without the taste and... From pancakes to braised chicken to stew and flank steak. Whatever your recipe, this is your solution for amazing food and the best taste. It's an investment that is better than bullion. ... show more

  • Some may think "Expensive", but TOTALLY worth the price 。-́‿-̀。
Color: Cherry
I love each (total of 3 now ʘ‿ʘ ) of my Staubs! This one does not disappoint. Zwilling lists the braiser as: Net weight: 7.72 lbs Capacity: 3.59 qt Length of product: 15.28 in Width of product: 11.81 in Height of product: 5.31 in Bottom thickness: 0.17 in Upper diameter: 11.81 in By Zwilling USA MANUFACTURER Also, the braiser is approximately 2 inches deep and the actual cooking surface (bottom) is approximately 10 inches. This is not a light-weight pot, so if you have issues picking up items with some weight, I suggest find one in the store to be sure you can lift it (remember you'll be filling it with food 。-́‿-̀。 ) The Cherry Red color isn't a bright red (more of a burnt cherry red), but still a beautiful color! I leave mine sitting on my stovetop it is so pretty! The glass lid fits tight (no steam escaped where the lid sits on the braiser sides) ... which makes the lid work great when you are steaming and *not* supposed to lift the lid. When the lid is lifted (hold it over the pan for the water to fall in), the lid immediately clears and is easy to see through once placed back on the pot. The knob does get hot so don't use your fingers to try and lift the lid while cooking. I did season mine (mixed thoughts from everyone on this step) and immediately cooked a chicken and rice dish. The chicken was tender and had a nice, even crisp skin. I normally cook rice in the Instant Pot (you can't beat Instant Pot rice!), but this pan did a great job. Cleanup was a breeze--I simply wiped it and was ready to cook my veggies. After cooking the meal, I let the pot cool and washed with Dawn, water, and a soft towel and the pan cleaned up beautiful! The lid can "probably" go in the dishwasher (IF I ever did, I would remove the knob), but I ***never*** would put the actual pot in there (so I handwash both). I have also fried eggs (adding oil to the pan) in it and the braiser did a great job! Looking forward to Fall and cool weather meals!! Thank you Staub!! • Used twice. Pitted horribly. See picture. **company replaced thanks!**
Color: Graphite Grey
***UPDATE 5/25/19: The company replaced this under the one-year warranty. Just found it on my front porch. Shoppers please note: the current price is now $110 more than the $150 I paid in February (through MMP Living not Chefs Corner) so I’m hoping this time I received a top quality item. Looks gorgeous—hope it works as well as it looks!*** Extremely expensive to last only through 2 uses (it’s just two of us so I hadn’t used it much yet but planned to this summer when we have more guests), when I expected a few decades of use. I rated it 5 stars initially on 4/6/19 but now I have to revise my view and recommend against this product as of 5/1/19. I’ve never owned Staub before and was intrigued by the coated cast iron, and good reviews. Now I guess it’s back to using my sturdy but not non-stick “LC” brand, and scraping and breaking out the barkeeper’s friend—or following the instructions for seasoning traditional cast iron found on America’s Test Kitchen website. I so wanted this Staub product to live up to its reputation. After all that’s what I based my buying decision on. Perhaps mine was just faulty? Or a “second”? I wonder because I paid $149.99 just 3 months ago and the price is about 35% more now. If it wasn’t a first-quality item, that detail wasn’t disclosed. If it was—something is way off. ... show more

  • Best enameled cast iron
Color: Matte Black
I am somewhat of a fan of cookware. I have just about everything, and tried just about everything, and settled on enameled cast iron as the best overall way to cook food. In that grouping of enameled cast iron, this one, to me, tops them all. And just try to find one with a heavy glass lid like this! This is the top of the line of the top of the line. And this one cleans up easier than the rest. Just soak it in water or soapy water for awhile, and it will clean right up with a nylon brush designed for cleaning pots and pans. The real game changer with enameled cast iron is that these will last you your lifetime, and the lifetime of those they are passed down to. But, if you like buying stuff over and over and over again, buy the "wonder" non-stick stuff attached to aluminum that you will be replacing every few years. ... show more

  • Staub Braiser Superb Quality and Versatile!
Color: Cherry
I love this pan! I have several Staub pieces and love the quality and ease of use and clean up. This Braiser is just the right size. It is 3.5 Quart, and the bottom of the pan is a flat 10", and curves out and up around the sides to 12" at the top rim and 2.5" high. It has a wonderful doomed glass lid that allows you to see what's going on inside. It is extremely easy to clean. I much prefer the textured black matte finish on the inside. Compared to Le Creuset or Lodge with the creamy-colored interiors, the black matte finish cleans much easier with no sticking, and no staining. With the Le Creuset and Lodge, you get sticking and staining with the very first use. Honestly, I don't see anything negative about this pan. I am prepared to pay a little more for the exceptional quality and usability of Staub; it will last a lifetime. ... show more

  • Hard to maintain
Color: Matte Black
Using a normal kitchen sponge with a gentle scrubbing side has created scratches on my expensive pan! Not non-stick so scrubbing is needed and hard to do without damaging the pan.
