  • Deep bass, good tambre.
Size: 4 x 10", 50oz Magnet, 3" Voice Coil, Black
I was very impressed with the depth and timbre of the sound. It is also loud. The only down-side is the Horn; It tends to distort on me. It has the sound and performance of the 4x10" that would cost around $800+. A great value. I bought it with the intension of replacing the 10" speakers with Celestion Pulse speakers, but the stock speakers sounded just as I wanted them to. The cabinet is deep (physically), heavy, solid, and rear-ported. All of which causes the speakers to fill the room with deep bass. Two of these stacked will sound as big and deep as an Ampeg 8x10". I push it with an all-tube, 200watt, Traynor head. I have found my 4x10" to couple with my 1x18". I just need to get a higher-wattage horn. ... show more

  • Heavy But Does The Job!

I have to add casters to it but so far this delivers the sound and warmth I needed!

  • Big Tone
Size: 2 x 10", 50oz Magnet, 3" Voice Coil, Orange
I didn’t expect much from a company that I haven’t heard of in the bass player’s community, but this cab really rocks!! I was able to open it up somewhat in a midsized venue. The settings on 15 year old Eden WTX-260 were set on low and it was plenty of bass for that venue. The midrange was heard loud and clear with the help of the horn set on low. The bass filled that room and I had plenty of room to turn it up if needed. I’ve played through many bass cabs in 30 years of playing bass and this 2x10 cab from Sound Town can hang with the best of them. The only slight draw back is the weight. It’s 56 lbs and you definitely feel it. Casters would help. I also could’ve used a cover, which I have to buy separately, because I’m afraid of ripping the cover. ... show more

  • Worth the money in the home or studio. Live it has not held up
Size: 2 x 10", 50oz Magnet, 3" Voice Coil, Black
The media could not be loaded. Well, I didn’t want to like this… Instead, I wanted to love it. Believe it or not I do! It’s a bit wider than what I was expecting as you can see in the photo compared to a 24 inch speaker cabinet. It’s about 25 inches so it’s not terribly off the standard bass guitar cabinet size. It reminds me of an old Fender tweed grill cloth. The cabinet itself is very well constructed. So on the back it has 2 1/4 inch/NEUTRIK connections so you will have no trouble plugging in no matter what cables you are using. It’s a bit hefty and awkward because of how deep it is (18”) to carry. It could probably use a dolly of sorts. As far as sound quality, it is beefy. It sounds like it has more low end than the 15 inch ampeg in the photo. The horn I usually do not use, but it has a low setting an off setting and a high setting as far as volumes, so that is much appreciated. I have been playing music for over 40 years and I have quite a collection of amplifiers and cabinets. I currently perform over 300 shows a year in Las Vegas and around the world. I may be purchasing another one of these cabinets as I am going to use this one this weekend for one of my residency gigs. It sounds great with the GK head in the photo. I have also run a few different ampeg amplifiers into this and it has “that”tone. I’m not sure what the speakers are, but they do sound very similar to ampeg eminence speakers. By the way, it is an eight om cabinet. I believe the 4 x 10 is four ohm. This supposedly handles 400 W I don’t usually plug anything of that power amount into a 2 x 10 cabinet. Most of my amplifiers are about 200 to 300 W. Update: so I finally used this cabinet in a live situation one guitar, a drummer and singer. In air monitors used this cabinet, hoping for a really good monitor on stage as it is performed very well at home and in the studio. It does not throw, and it actually distorts with a micro TC electronics 150 W into eight ohms and it is very disappointing because it distorts and has a natural compression that does not throw. ... show more

  • This is a great bass speaker!
Size: 4 x 10", 50oz Magnet, 3" Voice Coil, Orange
I love the sounds I am finally able to get with this bass speaker! I play Blues harp and I also purchased a bass tube amp head for the speakers. I have a couple of foot pedals running plugged in and I am getting that big full "fat" sound the harp players like! I am not disappointed at all. The only thing I did do was mount some three-inch casters on the bottom of the cabinet. Great sound for a great price. ... show more

  • Not just good for the money. Stellar all around
Size: 4 x 10", 50oz Magnet, 3" Voice Coil, Black
I purchased two of these a little over a year ago. These will take power and gobs of it while maintaining their bottom end extension and tonal quality. I use both four and five string bass guitars, and several different amplifiers all with stellar results. The cabinets are well constructed plywood and the drivers are cast frame with 3-in voice coils which honestly is insane for this kind of money. The weight everyone refers to are from the massive motor structures on these drivers. I've been on the inside of these. Plenty of corner bracing, damping material and either styrene or polypropylene capacitors protecting the horn, and laid out on a nice clean circuit board that terminates with the terminals on the back side. They're also styled very nice. Nothing but compliments on the looks and sound. If I had any critiques it would be that the covering is a bit thin and might rip easily if you are not careful. At high volume there can be a bit of chuffing noise produced from air exiting from behind the driver frames. Easily solved by removing the woofers and putting soft gaskets between them and the front baffle. I bought these on a whim after a guy on Facebook was boasting about them. I have not regretted it as they are value packed. I'm not sure how they're able to maintain such a low price point but I would call these the Sleeping Giants or Undiscovered Country of the bass cabinet world. I've been just as happy and impressed with these as several Ampeg cabinets I've owned in the past. As long as you don't mind a beefy weighty cabinet you're not going to go wrong with these. As others have mentioned, add some locking casters and you're good to go ... show more

  • Not bad NOT lightweight.
Size: 2 x 10", 50oz Magnet, 3" Voice Coil, Black
If you're interested in buying this cabinet then you're probably also looking at the peavey headliner which is a little more money. Both weigh about 60 lbs, one is mdf one is plywood. This one says it is plywood but weighs the same as the peavey so you decide what is best. The sound is good just wish it was lighter but lighter means more expensive. ... show more
