Description

The HT-1 are the perfect studio and practice guitar amps, packing all the great tone and innovative features of the award-winning HT-5 valve amp into a 1 Watt format. The patent-applied-for ISF (Infinite Shape Feature) circuit on the guitar amp gives you infinite adjustment over the characteristics of the tone control network and takes you from the USA to the UK and anywhere in between. Add a fully specified speaker emulated output, MP3 / Line Input, plus an 4-16? speaker output and you have everything you need for recording or practicing. Blackstar won the coveted MIPA 'Best Amp Award' at the Frankfurt Musikmesse 2011. These awards are voted for by 120 leading music magazines from around the world and in this hotly fought category with some other big names, the HT-1 guitar amps won the award. The HT-1RH is the perfect amp, packing all the great tone and innovative features of the award-winning HT-5 valve amp into a 1 Watt format. The patented ISF (Infinite Shape Feature) circuit gives you infinite adjustment over the characteristics of the tone control network and takes you from the USA to the UK and anywhere in between. Add a fully specified speaker emulated output, MP3/ Line Input and you have everything you need for recording or practicing. 1 WATT, PUSH-PULL DESIGN: The HT-1 power amplifier is a low powered push-pull design which produces the crunch and break-up characteristics of a traditional 100W output stage but at a much lower volume. This is achieved by the use of an ECC82 dual triode in push-pull configuration producing 1 Watt output, which is rich in valve harmonics and compression, sounding full and toneful even at the lowest volume level.

  • LOVE IT
Bought as a gift for musician significant other. He wishes he'd had it years ago. He randomly walks through the room and says how much he loves it. He has others and pedals and multiple guitars, etc. He's not a newbie, and he says this one is really great.

  • Serious Tone From a Fun Little Amp
Since I don’t play out live anymore I really have no use for my higher wattage amps so I thought i would give one of these a try. Don’t let the fact that it’s only 1 watt and one knob for eq fool you. There are plenty of great tones in this little beauty. I’m currently running it through two different 1x12” speaker cabinets. One to handle the low end and one for the top end and I have discovered no shortage of great tones playing through this amp. The two high watt speaker cabinets eliminate any “small” or “boxy” sounding issues as well as any issues with not enough headroom. I literally hate it when someone gives a bad review because their lower wattage amp sounds “boxy”. The amp doesn’t sound “boxy”. It’s the speaker and cabinet that you are running it through that determines that…but I digress. Where was I? As far as eq goes I’m sure a pedal for that would give you more options but they make it really simple for you. When you want clean keep it at 9 o clock for a fender type tone. If you are using the overdrive channel you want to turn that knob to 12 o clock for more mids to get a good overdriven tone from the amp. Very Marshall-like tone. For anyone who doesn’t like the opamp gain from the overdrive channel then use the clean channel and crank the gain and you will get preamp tube overdrive. I find that it takes pedals very well on the clean channel. On the overdrive channel trying to use an overdrive or fuzz is overkill and it doesn’t sound good. Although with this amp I now understand why people like Klon type overdrives. They sound great when used with an overdriven amp and you just need a little push off the cliff. When it comes to modulation/time based effects an effects loop would have made all the difference on the overdrive channel. Running overdrive after delay or tremolo doesn’t work. I have a Earthquaker levitation pedal for reverb so I really don’t use the amp’s. Ironically enough when on the overdrive channel the reverb seems more pronounced. A footswitch to switch between channels would have been nice for people who like to use both but I find myself sticking with the clean channel. I also heard there is a very simple mod if you really want one. I have the mk1 version so mine doesn’t have the usb out but the headphone out jack is excellent. I haven’t recorded through it but I can play this thing late at night through headphones and it sounds as good as if it was coming out of the cabinets. Not only that but you don’t have to have the speaker connected when using the headphone jack which makes it even more convenient. Even though the 5 watt addresses both of my issues with this amp I wouldn’t be able to do what all guitarists dream of. Cranking the tube amp all the way to the point of saturation. Besides the two issue I’ve mentioned I really cannot find any fault with this amp. If you live in an apartment building and have a neighbors and/or a partner/spouse whose hearing/nerves you have to consider and it’s late at night and inspiration hits you this head has got you covered. ... show more

  • Almost
I've been looking for a bedroom/studio level amp with great tube sound (at low volume) for years. At 1w this seemed to be perfect but for the "EQ" that is seemingly worthless. To brighten the sound I had to turn all the way to the left which is totally counter intuitive. Even dimed left, it was still had inadequate little treble. I returned a 5w mono price tube amp to get this and now wish I had the mono price on back. Aside for the strange and ineffective EQ, the rest of the amp was great...and plenty loud. ... show more

  • Great tube tone for edge of breakup sounds !
I bought this knowing what I was getting. I love low wattage tube amps and this one is really lovely. The tone is wonderful at all volumes. The overdrive tones ( when turned up past 5 are delicious ). I have had great fun recording this little puppy :)

  • Great little amp head!
Great amp head, sounds fantastic, and responds well to pedals. It's the perfect size to practice with.

  • EQ kinda weird, but fantastic with headphones
It's a little bit tricky to get a good tone out of this amp, the EQ isn't your typical bass mids and treble. It goes from an American rock sound to a British rock sound. This amp is FANTASTIC with headphones.
