Features

  • The active circuitry allows for up to 15dB of boost or cut on the bass and middle frequencies, and up to 20dB on the treble side.

  • Houses a 12 speaker with a reflex port for improved low-end response
  • Features Cabsim circuitry which emulates the response of Oranges stage-ready OBC bass speaker cabinets during silent practice
  • Finished in Oranges legendary livery dating back to 1968, the Crush range features basket weave vinyl, woven speaker grille cloth, signature picture frame edging and iconic hieroglyphs on the control panel

Description

Combines the essentials of a practice rig with tone and features normally reserved for the pros. From warm modern cleans, through to vintage grind and all the way up to full-on distorted mayhem, the Crush Bass 50 combines the essentials of a practice rig with tone and features normally reserved for the pros. The Crush Bass 50 draws inspiration from Orange’s flagship OB1 and 4 Stroke amplifiers, bringing some of the defining elements of each into a compact combo. Like the rest of the Crush Bass range, this 50 Watt model delivers bold and punchy lows courtesy of its analogue circuitry and ported cabinetry. The extremely flexible active EQ section includes a sweepable parametric mid band, allowing players to shape their signature sound without limitations. For even more versatility, the interactive Gain and Blend controls are primed for creating enormous ‘bi-amped’-style tones with ease, adding extra harmonics and variable levels of grit to the core bass tone. They can also be switched in remotely using the optional footswitch. Other handy features include a buffered effects loop, integrated tuner, aux. input and a headphone output with Cabsim circuitry.

  • Fun, little practice amp.
Color: Orange Style: Crush Bass 25
Nothing crazy, it's just a basic amp. But it sounds great, has some decent volume, and has a clean sound from the open B string all to way up my C string. The dual voltage (120v-230v) power supply and built-in tuner make it perfect.

  • Orange Crush 50W Bass Combo
Color: Black Style: Crush Bass 50
Sweet little practice combo from Orange. Sturdy, well-built and well-appointed. EQ with midrange sweep lets you dial in all the tones you could want for its primary purpose. Plenty loud for the bedroom. Don't expect to rock out with this amp, and certainly not in a full band setting. And don't expect subsonic, chest-pounding thump either, because that's not what this amp is for. That said, the 12" speaker will push out some low-end chunk with authority, in context. The gain/blend feature is fantastic, and imo is what really gets this amp into awesome territory. Don't let fizzy youtube reviews fool you. It brings the fuzz. Sounds great, super fun, super diverse. Tuner is nice but is the one thing that feels a little cheap. Aux input is ok. Don't see myself using it much but it's there. If you know Orange, and you want a solid practice combo with a wide palette of tones and some grit, and don't need a lot of bells and whistles, give it a shot. Jan 2022 update: My needs changed and I have found the AUX input/headphone jack essential! Needing to learn a bunch of classic rock songs quickly, and in a living situation where I gotta stay pretty quiet, I've been running spotify on a laptop into the AUX input, and headphones from the jack on the amp, which cuts the speaker. I can hear myself playing along perfectly, the streaming audio quality is serviceable, and I can balance the sound using my laptop's and my guitar's volume controls. Amp volume knob controls what comes out of the headphones. I didn't anticipate needing this, but the Orange Crush met the challenge (and has since become my best friend). Score one more for Orange! ... show more

  • Nice bass amp, good sound; nice features
Color: Orange Style: Crush Bass 50
I’m a beginner on the bass after playing the guitar for a few years now. Have a new bass to learn on and this new bass amp does the job for practicing at home. That’s what I’ve used it for so far and all I likely will use it for. Can go nice and loud, volume can go all the way up and play deep notes without degrading or distorting quality. Sure, I wish it could go even louder but probably want a 200watt mega amp too! I usually practice at 50% volume just fine and turn it up when I want a bit more power to the sound. Notes are clear. No static or buzz at all for me. I like that it has a little built in LED tuner right on this unit. You can use it to tune your strings to their correct tightness. Or as a beginner l, you can use it to verify the note you are playing on the fretboard which is really helpful for me. I know a little portable one also works probably, but this was a nice little extra to find. ... show more

  • Really impressed!
Color: Orange Style: Crush Bass 25
Torn between this and the Fender Rumble and not disappointed I chose Orange. Purchased for my 12 yr old son as a Christmas gift after also getting him a bass guitar. This little 25w amp rocks. The tone is amazing without static and buzz and the built-in tuner (like my Fender Mustang) is also super helpful for him. It is loud enough for practicing in the house, though he isn't allowed to turn up past 3 because you can hear it outside on the street. It's light enough for him to carry into the Living room when we jam together. Really impressive quality for the price and it should last him for years to come. ... show more

  • Great Amp for the money. Great tone. Reliable and Versatile.
Color: Orange Style: Crush Bass 25
As a music teacher I use this in a wide variety of settings and it gets used hard. Sounds great, easy to use and reliable. Great Value. Best Amp for the money. Great tone. Reliable and Versatile. it's not loud enough for a band and it has a hum when plugged into a PA system. The tuner works well.

  • Great amp
Color: Black Style: Crush Bass 100
Tried some other bass amps but this is the product I was looking for. Very clean, great tone, plenty of volume, and very little static and hum—especially compared to the other bass amps I was looking at.

  • Fantastic drive circuit.
Color: Black Style: Crush Bass 50
I have previously purchased both a Fender Rumble 25 and 40. I never cared for the drive sound...in fact, I thought it was pretty awful. I wanted to give Orange a try (and one day maybe an Ampeg), and boy was I ever glad that I did. The drive circuit on the Orange Crush 50 sounds fantastic! It is soooooo much better than the Fender Rumble 40...by a country mile. The built in tuner could be handy, but I have a tuner pedal that I prefer. The only thing that the Crush 50 lacks that the Rumble 40 has, is a XLR output...not something I have ever used, or plan to anytime soon anyway. Overall, the Crush 50 is pretty much superior in every way. ... show more
