    • Great sound and features galore in a lightweight package
I was looking for a bass combo amp that was more powerful than a practice amp, but not so bulky/heavy that schlepping it to a gig and back would wear me out. The Max 100 fits the bill perfectly. It has both passive and active instrument inputs (Perfect! I have one of each bass!), effects send & return jacks (everything goes through the same pedal[s]!), a headphone jack for when you DO have to practice AND an aux input for your music sources, and even a balanced XLR direct output when the Max's 65 watt output isn't quite loud enough for the room you're playing. The 10-inch speaker handles my 5-string's low B without getting farty. A three-band EQ with bass contour, mid-shift, and bright buttons gives you plenty of tone control. There's even a built-in chromatic tuner (because you can't have enough tuners, right?). And all this comes in a very manageable 24 pound enclosure. This thing is great. I can get everything from a clean classic tone, up to something that sounds like it came from a Mayhem album, all with no additional effects. It even has a tuner, so you can really get away without a pedal board at all.

Awesome. I needed an amp loud enough to fill up a four bedroom house when I please but not be a cabinet necessarily. This amp does that and more. I’m running an entry level Ibanez 5 string(G10) and it sounds fantastic with just one of the five onboard eq effects. Take up less room than a drum throne! ... show more

    • Amazing Peavy product! Loved it
I loved it and I used to have one Peavy amp. It last me 15 years and broke because I dropped it from a stairs. The new one has new features and step up in the game... It's worth the money and the wait... I am very happy with my Peavy and looking forward to buy me a stack amp.
