  • Awesome level up golf monitor!
I was using the OG; the plus connected easily, and it seems to have a more stable connection in my garage. Definitely few misreads and it shows the shot quicker MOST of the time, but not ALL the time. I had a few shots where it took about 3 seconds to register. The ST range is where the money is at; the data parameters take the guessing out of why I keep hitting hooks with my irons. it clearly shows path of face, in or out in degrees, and club face open or closed, also in degrees. ... show more

  • Sold defective item
I used this for few times only , charged it for 24 hrs initially and played few times and then boxed to open in winter. Now after a month when i reopened the unit doesn’t charge. I guess the battery is not reliable. I read this is a consistent problem with the brand, now I am stuck with 3k junk. Please avoid this brand . ... show more

  • Finally, a working launch monitor!
Wow! I had given up on personal launch monitors after wasting money on P3ProSwing and Flightscope Mevo when those came out. Neither were accurate in the least, so I was really scared about what I was getting into with Skytrak+. I was extremely pleased that performance was excellent. I'm still waiting for my net to come in to use at home, but I want to provide a quick review of use at the range on mats. Setting up an account and installing the app on two iPads and one Android tablet was very easy. The only hitch was finding the wifi password which is "skytrakplus". Using the launch monitor was very easy, and I had little trouble with missed shots. On the first session, it missed 3 out of 50 shots: one that was hit fat by about 6 inches, one perfect shot, and one that was incredibly thin. All of the other fat or thin shots registered exactly as they looked visually. It worked well off of really tall driver tees as well as off the mat. The unit is very quick and plots the shot in a lifelike manner. All of the data on the main screen is easy to read and well presented. I was hoping to compare the accuracy to Toptracer at my local range and see whether or not the Skytrak+ doppler interfered with it, but as happens fairly often, it was out of service. However, with good shots with my pitching wedge, the displayed distance was within a yard of how far I felt I had hit it. Analyzing on iPad - You can select the shots you want to plot on a graph, but the graph doesn't have a legend for the shot height. It also doesn't allow you to zoom in, so your 120 yard shots are pretty small on a 340 yard graph. I also don't see an obvious way to hide or delete bad shots in the history window that I don't want to skew my statistics. I was unable to sync data from a "direct connection" session where my iPad was directly connected to the Skytrak+ WIFI at the range and without Internet access. The iPad app shows "Data Synced", but I don't see my shots under "RECENT ACTIVITY" on skytrakgolf.com. It seems like those shots are now only available on my iPad. Normally I'll use this at home with internet, so this isn't an issue for me. I really wish that Skytrak+ could display the video or even two or three still pictures of the impact like one of the competitors can do. Maybe they can add this in a future update if the hardware is capable. Until then I'll have to use the slow motion on my cell phone camera if I want to see what's going on at impact. ... show more

  • Super cool device for golfers
This unit is very expensive, but it is a very cool system to have if you can afford it. It still requires that you buy a mat & a backdrop along with some other odd & enda before you can start playing. But once you have all the required Equipment this thing is VERY COOL! It has unlimited stats & it has features that you can explore for days! But unfortunately the average person will not be able to afford this system & everything required. It's just a little too pricey in my Opinion. It is a GREAT idea though ... show more

  • so much fun and helps improve skills
This is such a cool little gadget. This package comes with the new SkyTrak+ and a heavy-duty protective case, so you don’t damage the unit if you accidentally whack it or knock it over. Since it’s portable, it’s got a lot of flexibility for how to use it. Outdoors, it’s perfect for use on a driving range; it just needs a flat mat or artificial turf to hit from. It projects out a laser dot that shows you where to place the ball. You can see your results (distance, speed, spin, and tons of other factors) on the SkyTrak app, which we are running on an iPad. It does kinda work in natural grass, but it’s harder to see the laser dot and it just seems to track better and more accurately when you’re hitting from a perfectly flat surface. The app shows a lot of different data, but the main ones we look at are the “red, yellow, green” scores, which rate how you compare to other players/pros on certain metrics. You can see how you compare to optimal ranges for the type of club you choose. Then you can study the other, more granular data points that tell you what you did right to achieve a good (green) shot, or what went wrong if you get a bad (red) shot. Once you get the hang of it, you get a good hit and start to figure out how to learn from it and get better control of the ball. It even shows you the position of your club face in a little illustration on the screen, which is super helpful. The more you play around with it the more you see what the numbers mean, so you can work on what you need to improve. I wish we had a basement, as that would be the perfect space to set up a projector, screen and netting, and make a really nice, climate-controlled spot to practice at home. We are working on setting up a space in the garage, but it will need to be moveable for when we need to put cars in there during bad weather. Lighting will be important because it’s a photometric system and uses doppler radar to track the ball and club movement. Of course SkyTrak offers a ready-to-go complete setup, but it shouldn’t be too hard to cobble together our own. You can buy software plans that cost a few hundred bucks a year that let you play virtual versions of famous courses, and games to go with it, but you don’t have to. The basic plan is basic, but free. If we get around to investing in a better setup to play with this, we might spring for an annual subscription, especially to keep up skills in the winter months. If you golf though, you already know it's not the cheapest hobby, so the subscription doesn’t seem that daunting in the grand scheme of things. I can see why the SkyTrak has long been one of the best-selling platforms out there. Really cool and fun to play with! ... show more
