After extensive research, this chair was recommended to me. If your not trying to drop bigger money on a SecretLabs or a Herman Miller or something like that like I was, this is a great option for the meantime while you save. Very comfortable, best quality chair I've ever had at this pricepoint.

it definitely is a chair. it was easy to put together aside from one, sad, angry screw that refused to screw in all the way... but everything else was easy enough. there is a plastic cover that comes with the up/down release thingy and it doesn't mention it in the instructions at all, so i didn't put it on the chair and uh... now i can't take it apart to put it on. so. be warned?? comfort is pretty good, you can lean back in it but the chair back is static so you're not truly reclining! just be aware. the cushion is pretty comfy actually, but i will probably end up getting a lumbar pillow at some point because there is little support. i know their other chairs do offer more lumbar support though, so if that's something you need i'd look at their arlington chair. the fabric is really nice! i literally only got this chair because i wanted fabric and HATE fake leather. so, if you're like me, i would recommend this chair. :) ... show more

To be honest, it's not as comfortable as I thought it would be the lumbar support on the bottom could be better. I plan on getting a squishy pillow to put there. I'm a short 52 and it's sitting all the way to the bottom. I thought that it reclined maybe I'm wrong. I did not go back and read the box, but it does not as far as I know, I didn't figure it out. If I figure it out I will tell you later it's 30 it is comfortable except for my lumbar area. I'm not impressed like I thought that would be but it's OK. The color pink is beautiful. ... show more

I've had a few of what I consider economy office chairs. I'm impressed with the sturdy build of this Serta. The adjustment knob under the seat works great for regulating the degree of tension while reclining. I have no illusions about the longevity of the bonded leather. I hope to get two to three years before the inevitable pealing begins, and a few more before it's an eyesore. Until then I think it will be a comfortable chair. The padding is generous, the lumbar is firm and the quality is better than expected at this price point. Assembly was simple. Not sure why some reviewers have had difficulty. The cushions are hard. It looks nice. That's about the only upside. I would pay maybe half the cost for this chair. Even at the lowest tension, it takes way too much force to lean back in the chair. Obviously if you have to use your legs to push the entire time you're sitting in it to lean, it's not comfortable. If you're a person who can't sit straight up for hours in a chair, don't get it. I got this for my work from home job and my whole body aches from sitting in this chair all day. Not worth the hassle of returning. ... show more

Since changing to a remote work schedule a few years ago, my old chair had completely worn out. I was well over due for a new office chair. This chair was fairly easy for one person to put together. Hand screw everything with the provided tools and you’ll be fine. I love the fabric (it was difficult to find a good fabric chair as most are bonded leather). The seat has a lot of cushion and the lumbar support is perfect - the placement is just right for someone 5’3”. Some people reported issues with the recline; however, they may not have realized that the entire seat and seat back reclines as one unit. This chair is amazing! The frame is made of matte, high quality black metal and is a modern, thin design. The color of the seat is a cool, light baby pink. The seat material is thick and so soft, the seat itself feels like memory foam! There are subtle brushed nickel accents on the bottom of the arm rests. The entire chair was very high quality, no scuffs anywhere on the frame or on the seat material, it was well stitched together and the package had all pieces required to assemble the chair. I have a very short desk, and the seat is able to lower down so that the arm rests are still below the table. It also reclines and spins effortlessly and totally smooth. I love it so much, it exceeded my expectations for the price and considering there were a fair amount of negative reviews.
