This is by far the most comfortable office chair that I've ever owned or sat in. I've owned quite a few office chairs. Some big and comfy, some new ergonomic designs, some super expensive, others supplied by my employer, and even 2 other/prior Serta chairs. This, by far beats them all. I first purchased this chair for my wife in her office. She's of average size as well, but she always felt like she was being swallowed by some of the larger, more cushiony office chairs. She wanted to be comfortable, but didn't want to drown in the chair. I purchased this chair for her and she absolutely loves it. It's been a year now, and it's holding up well, looks great, and she has zero complaints. Which brings me to my personal purchase for myself. I'm average size. A little bulky, but not too big. I've been through so many chairs. They all feel great initially, but after a lot of use, I felt uncomfortable, or fatigued from sitting, and even sore. I have some lumbar back issues, and my tail bone occasionally gets sore if I sit too long, especially if I slouch over time. I was ready to buy a new chair, and it takes me forever to decide, however I do really like my wife's chair. So I purchased this chair for myself. I must say, that this chair is the best that I've used. It's not huge. You wouldn't be too comfortable trying to nap in it. But for sitting and working? It's amazing. Chair looks great, provides firm back support and is comfortable. Only downsides are the back could be a little taller. I am 5’11” and the head rest is really a neck rest. Its like leather parts mixed with mesh so not full leather. I bought one of these two and a half years ago for a family member and its still holding up so I am optimistic this will last a while. Some of the rubber trim pieces (on the sides of the arm rests) aren’t perfectly sized and may fall out or need to be glued, however they are not critical to the performance, and are just for looks to cover up screws. ... show more

This chair is very comfortable for folks who are over 5'4" (like it says in the description). We have 4 in our company office now. If it seemed to be made of sturdier material, it would earn a 5-star rating, but the plastic pieces seem a bit flimsy given the price. It was fairly easy to assemble.

I really love this chair ! Quite a change up to the last painful chair I sat on. This chair has all over support for lumbar and not an actual adjustment to increase pressure. I like the feel of this support but you do need to scoot back and keep your feet on the floor to appreciate the benefit. I feel so much better at the end of a work day! ... show more

    • Not Comfortable, Cheap Quality, Not Worth the $$$

I choose items on Amazon, in part, based on the feedback provided by others. I (unintelligently) chose to ignore the bad reviews on this one and focused only on those who said this chair had changed their desk lives. Do yourself a favor and read the one star reviews. I purchased this item specifically because I needed both comfort and support from a computer chair. This chair is not only uncomfortable and unsupportive, but also cheaply made. The materials are of terrible quality, and you can really tell when you feel the adjustment controls or any piece of included plastic. Like some others who reviewed here, parts (of course) arrived damaged on delivery. This was nothing that could have happened in transit - only from the result of poor QC. After calling the customer service line, as requested by multiple signs on plastic wrap and on an included sheet, I was left waiting another week for a chair that should have been working on arrival (after assembly of course). As a side note to Serta, having to advertise "STOP DO NOT RETURN, CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE" on almost everything that comes out of the box does not indicate confidence in your manufacturing processes. Get a better supplier or fix the issues you are encountering on the supply chain. Nobody (or corporation) is perfect. Sometimes issues do happen (though they should be few and far between). Don't cheap out (again) on the customer. Ship their replacement parts to arrive within 1-2 days. Do not leave your customers without the working chair they were promised for a week or longer. With all of this said, I cannot in good conscience recommend this chair to anyone. The final product, once you are able to assemble it after being mailed your replacement parts, is cheap and uncomfortable. Don't get burned, buy anything else. ... show more

I tried the Serta Brinkley at Office Depot but didn't see that one on Amazon so I figured that would be close enough. This may be a great chair for some, however I have a bad back and it 100% makes it worse. It was an expensive chair and I am not able to use it. It is incredibly soft which may sound great to some but it's too soft and the sides are slightly raised so it presses on my sciatica and creates problems. It is well built and looks nice, rolls well, it only has up and down height adjustment capabilities no extra levers for lumbar support pressure or other settings.. It could work well for a home office but not someone who works a desk job and needs good back support for 8-10 hours. ... show more

It was like next day delivery—Amazon is amazing! The big box, the chair came in, was pretty beat up; but everything was inside and undamaged. The instructions for putting the chair together were good; but, of course, I had to put things on backward and then take it apart again before I got it right—it was fun. The chair looks really nice, with the grey leather and the white stitching, and is wonderfully comfortable. One of the things I really like about the chair is that, without thinking about it, it encourages me to sit with a good posture—at 74 years old this is a serious bonus. ... show more
