This Wardix automated litter box is fantastic and is a great value for the price. It’s been a few days and it has been working flawlessly. I replaced 2 very large igloo style littler boxes with this one box. I have 3 cats and they have been at it about 8 times a day and the Wardix cleans up after each use, resetting the litter box for the next use. No need to have two boxes and it also saves litter with its efficient cleaning. I researched many units as well as the well-known brand that retails at $700. I looked at reviews, features and functionality, reliability, ease of cleaning and ultimately decided on this unit. In looking at how the unit is made, it is hard to predict reliability, but the design is rather simple and cleaver. I think it will fare better than the expensive unit, which I have studied in person at a friends house. The method of cleaning is very simple. There is a drum with a removable liner, a cleaning sifter, a pocket that holds the clean litter during cleaning and an opening for dumping. The liner is where the litter is placed. After use, the drum will turn counter-clockwise and the litter goes through the sifter and the clean litter ends up in the pocket. The drum continues to turn and the excrement and clumps of urine end up falling into the opening and then fall into a bag in a tray below. The drum then returns to the original position after leveling off the sifted/clean litter. When it’s time to replace the litter, at the press of a button, the drum rotates clockwise and the entire contents of the drum is dumped into the tray below. If you want to clean the drum, you simply lift it out of the base and wash it out (but don’t have to). Since the unit contains a drum and the drum has a lip at the entrance, it is nearly impossible for your cat(s) to urinate outside the unit and the drum does not leak. Even if it did somehow, the design is such that the urine, litter, or anything else will flow into the base and then right into the bag/tray. It literally has nowhere else to go. The base has small openings where the rollers and drive gear are, but they are higher up in the base and gravity will prevent anything from reaching them. The unit being on legs makes it very easy to clean any litter that may make its way out on your kitty’s paws. A litter mat (and two rolls of bags) are included. But a little litter getting out is unavoidable with any litter box. To that end, once the tray is removed for cleaning, it is very easy to vacuum under and around the unit. No more having to lift and relocate the entire litter box. The unit has sensors that tell it when a cat enters and exits. It also knows when a cat is present based on the weight in the drum. If a cat were to jump inside during a cleaning cycle, the unit stops. And should there be a malfunction the drum rotates at a safe speed. Any cat will simply jump out, since the opening is never obstructed during cleaning. It can also detect when the tray is full, or if any issue occurs with the unit’s operation. Setup was very easy. The accompanying app (Tuya) is a bit generic but you can fully operate it remotely and check on the status of the unit from anywhere. Very useful if you’re away from home for an extended period. I added the unit to the Smart Life app without any issue, since Smart Life also supports IFTTT. You can use the unit without the app or WiFi if you prefer. There is a light inside the drum and you can control the color and brightness. You can also dim the display screen. These are useful considerations because I have this in my bedroom and prefer to have the display off and a slight red light inside the unit, as not to interrupt my sleep with lights. Such a waste of money, one of the worst purchases I’ve ever made. I was so excited to get it and save time and energy cleaning the cat litter box. I ended up wasting more time and energy trying to fix it, reset it, unplug it, align the drum, etc. Save your money and spend a little bit extra on better ones. ... show more

THIS CLAIMS TO BE A MANUAL LITER BOX BUT YOU HAVE TO GO INTO YOUR APP AND HIT CLEAN EACH TIME YOU WANT THE BOX CLEANED. I RESET THE MACHINE SEVERAL TIMES. STILL NO SENSOR. I WENT BACK AND SAW ANOTHER REVIEW FROM SOMEONE FROM THE SAME ISSUE. BUMMER

    • Great Litter Box that is both Safe and Effective. Great Value.
My first priority was safety and I tested this box thoroughly and its safely features work. The sensors know when a cat crosses the opening and also when it is inside. All cleaning activities stop indefinitely until the cat leaves. A big plus is that the rotating drum is always open in the front and a cat cannot get caught inside. The second feature was cleaning ability. The box does a great job with clay (I have not tried other) litter, removing the clumps and poop. The box resets into position a few minutes after your cat does its business. There is little odor too, I assume since the dirty stuff drops into a tray below and there is little air movement once it is trapped inside. Via the app you can control the display and interior lights and how long the machine waits before cleaning, to allow for clumping). This is great so that you can customize to your taste, location of use and your type of litter used. There is a log and you can see your cat's activities as well as any errors, which includes removing the tray below, or a cat entering the machine while it is cleaning. The unit also appears to be very easy to clean. It automatically dumps out the old litter when you decide it is time to replace it. The large lid above comes off easily and is light. That gives you access to the interior parts including the drum that does the work. Any litter dropped in there can be brushed away with the included cleaning brush, which is also handy to keep all the sensors clean. The drum has a liner that can be taken out and washed, but i simply hose down the entire drum and wipe it dry. It is all plastic so there is nothing to rust, except a metal bearing at the back (keep that dry). The body of the unit has two rollers on bearings too. In total, there are two rollers, a rear bearing, a gear that spins the drum and a large gear that is on the drum itself. The gears are so big they wont ever wear out. Mechanically there is little to maintain and that go wrong with it. I would guess that the electronics and sensors are what would cause it to fail in the future, but I don't see a viable way they would get wet, so I think it will last. Moreover, I received a card with the unit that let me register it for a lifetime warranty. Overall I am very happy with my choice. I looked at many other units both cheaper and more expensive. This one works well and is safe, and my cats like it. Stay away from any units that have an opening that closes during cleaning. You can google them and find that they injure or kill cats. That was my biggest hesitation with buying one of these, but the Wardix litter box is very safe and effective. ... show more

    • Seems to work but…
The instructions are negligible at best and the app useless. So far one week in it’s working but if there’s an issue there will be no way to resolve it. Buy with caution!
