I love this pan so much that I just bought a second one so I can fill a clean pan when I do my monthly wash and bleach the dirty one and let it dry. (My cat doesn't understand why his pan is not available for a few hours while it dries) ;) I have previously owned both the rolling self cleaning litter box (4 of them!) and the one with sifter screens and neither perform as well as this one. The sifter box actually took longer than manually scooping the litter. The rolling box sort of worked but requires a lot of floor space and, because it's enclosed, it does not allow odors to dissipate. I had to use unscented litter or my cat would not use it because the smell of the scented litter became very strong in the enclosed box. I still needed to disassemble the box almost every time because either the internal screen would become clogged and not sift because urine clumps would stick or it would would pop out of position. The Le you pet litter box work! It's open air design allows silica gel litter to dry out like it's supposed to, does not concentrate the scent of scented litter, It takes up minimal floor space, and the easily accessible pop out screen can be easily removed and cleaned if it clogs (which is a rare occurrence compared to the rolling pan) without having to disassemble the enter litter box. It is a bit on the small side but my 16 lb. male cat uses it without any problem. However, I do wish they would come out with a larger model for bigger cats. I for use a lightweight clumping litter, which I have found works best for me, but I've also used silica gel (both clumping and non clumping) successfully. It takes less then 2 minutes to do a daily cleaning on the pan and if there are 1 or 2 clumps that need to be manually scooped because they are stuck to the pan (because my cat tends to urinate in the same corner of the pan) I usually just loosen then with the scoop and tilt the pan again. One trick that I learned from the reviews on here is to spray the pan with cooking spray before filling it to help keep litter from sticking. There sometimes is a bit of litter leaking out the back when the pan is tipped for cleaning but I have the pan on a litter mat so it is easy to contain and clean about once a week. The rolling pans also leaked litter but it would be all along the floor as the pan was rolled and required sweeping every time the pan was cleaned. No litter pan is perfect and I've shared my life with cats for over 50 years now so I've tried many types of pans. The Le you pet self cleaning pan is at the top of my list. I highly recommend it. Assembly is easy and takes less than 5 minutes and the price is reasonable when compared to the other non automatic self cleaning pans that are available. ... show more

    • don't over fill
First I love it Its cleaner and faster than a scoop, My cats like it. I started by dumping it twice a day morning and night time but now my cats watch and as soon as I dump it and add a cup of fresh litter they jump in and use it. so now i dump it, let them use it and dump again before adding the fresh litter. a problem is its difficult to know how much litter to put in. you have to have it in the dump position i think when adding litter. if you put too much litter in it fills up the removable waste drawer with the extra litter as well as the poo. twice now when I pulled out the removeable drawer stuff was left in the box the drawer sits in blocking the drawer from going back in. I had to take apart the top half to clean it. later I took a hole cutting saw bit for a drill and carefully cut three holes in the box that holds the drawer so now stuff drains back down into the pan (NOT a Hole in THE DRAWER but a hole in THE BOX area the DRAWER SLIDES INTO) another problem is maybe litter related my cats favorite clay litter sticks to the bottom when he pees so i use my old litter scooper to loosen it then it does roll into the waste drawer. he wont use other kinds of litter so maybe this is not a product problem. ... show more

    • it's kind of small but the idea is great
The media could not be loaded. I liked that it actually works as advertised. Like other reviews mention, it does need to be a little sturdier. The set-up is easy but the parts seem really cheap and it feels like parts don't fit together 100%. Every time you flip it (for the clumps to fall onto the tray), little bit of litter sneaks out and I feel like it will break down after a couple weeks of use. The concept is really nice because once you get one of these, you don't need to scoop anymore. But I flip this thing and empty the tray more than 3 times a day because as you can see from the video, the litter portion is pretty small (contrast to me going to my original litter box once a day to scoop). My cats are pretty small, they are only 6 months old but one of them still fills the entire box with not much extra space. ... show more
