I love this pan so much that I just bought a second one so I can fill a clean pan when I do my monthly wash and bleach the dirty one and let it dry. (My cat doesn't understand why his pan is not available for a few hours while it dries) ;) I have previously owned both the rolling self cleaning litter box (4 of them!) and the one with sifter screens and neither perform as well as this one. The sifter box actually took longer than manually scooping the litter. The rolling box sort of worked but requires a lot of floor space and, because it's enclosed, it does not allow odors to dissipate. I had to use unscented litter or my cat would not use it because the smell of the scented litter became very strong in the enclosed box. I still needed to disassemble the box almost every time because either the internal screen would become clogged and not sift because urine clumps would stick or it would would pop out of position. The Le you pet litter box work! It's open air design allows silica gel litter to dry out like it's supposed to, does not concentrate the scent of scented litter, It takes up minimal floor space, and the easily accessible pop out screen can be easily removed and cleaned if it clogs (which is a rare occurrence compared to the rolling pan) without having to disassemble the enter litter box. It is a bit on the small side but my 16 lb. male cat uses it without any problem. However, I do wish they would come out with a larger model for bigger cats. I for use a lightweight clumping litter, which I have found works best for me, but I've also used silica gel (both clumping and non clumping) successfully. It takes less then 2 minutes to do a daily cleaning on the pan and if there are 1 or 2 clumps that need to be manually scooped because they are stuck to the pan (because my cat tends to urinate in the same corner of the pan) I usually just loosen then with the scoop and tilt the pan again. One trick that I learned from the reviews on here is to spray the pan with cooking spray before filling it to help keep litter from sticking. There sometimes is a bit of litter leaking out the back when the pan is tipped for cleaning but I have the pan on a litter mat so it is easy to contain and clean about once a week. The rolling pans also leaked litter but it would be all along the floor as the pan was rolled and required sweeping every time the pan was cleaned. No litter pan is perfect and I've shared my life with cats for over 50 years now so I've tried many types of pans. The Le you pet self cleaning pan is at the top of my list. I highly recommend it. Assembly is easy and takes less than 5 minutes and the price is reasonable when compared to the other non automatic self cleaning pans that are available. ... show more

Ive had this for a few months now, it serves it's purpose and my cats use it. Unfortunately when i bought it they didn't send all the clips for the side. When you go to use it how it's shown it just dumps litter everywhere. Luckily I have a mat that picks it up but I shouldn't honestly have to. Thinking about throwing it away. It's cheaply made definitely,you get what you pay for. I think if they had sent the clips it wouldn't be so bad. ALSO? it's really small? My tiny female cat struggled to use jt properly for thr first 2 weeks because her butt would just hang off the side? Lol ... show more

I have experimented with self cleaning litter boxes the lowest price you can find is one for $200 believe me i had 2 that died within 2 months 1 that is basically a pos that i have to tape together to use they are not worth it this box is so much easier to use i mean you absolutely will have to sift it daily and it is fragile but if you arent rough with it it will last id rather spend $50 on this than $200 for others that break within 2 months also i use a plastic bag in the collection drawer (just use a plastic bag from walmart) and when i empty the drawer i just replace it with a new plastic bag,,,,,,no mess ... show more

    • Surprisingly pretty awesome!
The media could not be loaded. Context for the video in my review… I ordered this without reading the reviews because I just wanted to order something that didn’t require scooping but also didn’t cost $500. After I ordered it, I sent the link to my roommate who then asked me if I read the reviews because a lot of them were not so great. I panicked and tried to cancel the order, but it was too late. This video is what I sent my roommate whenever it arrived. I decided to put it together. Try it out and see for myself if I hated it or not. I did miss one part at the end of the video as far as instructions on usage. The plastic piece underneath the front of the litter box folds up and out so that the litter box tilts all the way forward. That is how you get the clean litter to pour out of the grated piece, filling up the main section with the clean litter. After that, you would tilt the litter box back up, close that plastic piece & let the litter box rest on it. Now it is all set for the cats to use again. (Mine are usually watching and waiting for me to finish so they can immediately go poop in it once I clean it). I saw some reviews saying that it is flimsy or not very sturdy. I don’t particularly agree with that. It definitely seems as sturdy as something like this should be unless you are just ridiculously heavy handed and you’re being rough with it. The little drawer that holds the dirty litter slides right out and you can dump it right in a trash bag. You could also slide a trash bag over that, and it would automatically catch all the dirty litter. If I am consistent about flipping it to clean it a couple of times a day the smell is not as strong as a regular litter box. I would suggest that wherever you place it make sure there is about 3 inches of clearance between the back of the litter box and whatever is behind it like a wall or something. It does need space behind it to be flipped & catch the dirty litter. This litter box was designed to be used with clumping litter obviously. My personal opinion is that Arm & Hammer Hardball litter is the absolute best for this box. That’s because it forms super hard, tight clumps that don’t break apart into little bitty chunks that would fit through the grates. They advertise that the clumps are indestructible & that’s mostly true. Big, hard & ‘indestructible’ clumps are exactly what this litter box calls for! If you are looking to stop scooping countless times a day, but you don’t want to invest in an automatic self cleaning litter box just yet, this is the absolute perfect compromise in the meantime. This one is in my bedroom but I plan to get 1 or 2 more for other areas in my home once I have some extra funds. Definitely worth mentioning that the cats love it too! My roommates cats don’t usually come in my room often unless they hear me feeding my dog or my kitten. Lately, the mischievous one has been pushing my door open during the night so he can come use this box instead of the 3 in other parts of the house! We use the same litter in all 4 boxes. So it must mean he likes this box better haha! ... show more
