3 days in and will update again in a couple of weeks! Super excited when this arrived at my home and right away ran into an issues . Before I even unboxed I scanned the bar code on outside of box that brought me to a blank page. Then after opening I scanned 2 more bar codes that were suppose to bring me to the pet cove app, they too directed me to a blank page. I then scanned the code on the litter box itself that only brought me to the pet cove store site. Annoyed I didn't see any real directions on set up I searched on my Google play store for purrtek and no exact match so then searched pet cove and after scrolling down I found an app. Once installed the app I spent the next 2 hours configuring my wifi so that I could have 2.4 on my phone and to connect the litter box. The app is not helpful in the sense of helping with set up or how to use. It identifies the buttons on box but no explanation of what each button actually telling you what it's use is for. For example the infrared sensor detection is by default off- does this mean it needs to be on to detect my cat? I have no idea but I always want the box to detect my cat to insure my cats safety so why would it be off..ever? I also have no idea on how to use the cleaning cycles, like if I have it set to clean every hour will it only clean every hour and not after my cat uses it or will it detect that my cat is in there if in the box 😳? Same with clumping feature, I have no idea how long it should clump for. I also don't know if there is a way to have the app set for multi cat weights and my cats have similar weights but the app varies a tiny bit as it's not exact when I see my one cat go in 3 times in the matter of a couple of minutes the weight slightly changes and I don't know if both are using it. There are no instructions on how to disassemble to clean or how to get the litter inside so I made the mistake of just pouring into small opening so I spilled a ton onto floor and now I pour into a cup and pour into box that way but that can't be how it's done so I'm either a little behind technically or this could use some improvements but instructions with more explanation of how to use would be helpful to know how to properly use the machine. As far as as changing the bag it is simple and main function of the box is good. I haven't smelled anything which is quite impressive as my cats have the stinkiest poops ever. Will update soon! UPDATE, AS PROMISED Have now had the litter box a couple of weeks and have worked out some of the issues on my own by playing around with it. I figured out how to take the drum out to fill litter and clean out. There is a latch on back that isn't as obvious as one would think at least not to me. Customer service is super important when making a large purchase or really any purchase and I was contacted very soon after my initial review letting me know that they will gladly help me to understand the machine so that I can use it correctly and to it's potential therefore making my life easier which is why I purchased. I was kind of annoyed because I felt like I was being told that if I wanted help with the problems I put in my review then I needed to ask which to me was pretty clear that if you know the issues I'm having then yes please send me the guides I need BUT in the last response I was informed that was Amazon's policy that I can contact the seller but the seller needed to take certain steps to reach me to not violate policy through Amazon! Anyways PetCove has been very responsive and has even refunded the purchase in hopes that I will continue to use the product that they are confident in and hope that I can spread the word. In all sincerity I actually am liking the auto litter box. It's pretty basic, not complex and does exactly what it is supposed to do! I just wish it came with clear instructions or any instructions! We ~some how~ adopted these three little cats that are brothers and then we realized WE HAVE THREE LITTLE GUYS NON STOP POOPING haha. After a month of having a bunch of litter boxes I went on a deep dive into automatic litter boxes. I decided to invest the money into this brand because of the reviews on the amazing customer service. After a quick and easy set up I watched how the machine was able to efficiently clean the litter and I am amazed by the simple design that works so well! It’s sturdy and easy to use. I have learned a few things through a couple months of use. First, I have found that non clumping litter works the best. When I tried clumping it would bang around in there and pop off the little sifting door. No stress though it popped right back on and has been easy to clean. I take it outside and use dish soap and the hose to wash out the entire machine. So then I tried the pellets- that did not go well at all. They were everywhere. So I have gone back to non clumping and I have no issues. The cats have no problem fitting in there. They are able to have plenty of space to do their business and cover up without throwing litter everywhere. It’s quiet and has been an amazing value. I wish I could buy a back up drum to have one to install while I deep clean the first. Obviously if you do not clean the container and change the bag every couple of days (4 cats in the home) you are going to have a smell after some time. I wash the drum about every 3 weeks to be sure there is no smell. But no matter what box you have you will have to clean it so there will never be NO WORK. However I am not sifting litter multiple times a day and my cats are happy. I am beyond happy with my purchase. ... show more

    • A Self-Cleaning Litter Box that actually works!

Pros-I've purchased 3 different self-cleaning boxes. This one worked the best. It went through its cleaning process when it was supposed to and it's quiet. The sides are hard plastic and my cats with nails are not able to rip the sides like some of the "rubber" types. The bottom where the litter is, is bigger than it looks, and you can put plenty of litter in it. The bag to be emptied is at the top so it is easy to empty. Cons-The opening and container itself is small and 2 of my cats won't use it. It has to do with size not weight. The collection bag is at the top and sometimes a little bit of litter (granules) gets out of there, and you have to vacuum or clean it. I also don't like how much time it takes for me to "install" the new bag because I have to wrap the draw string which takes a minute or so. One time, I was in the process of changing the bag and the machine started to rotate, and I couldn't stop it. Not sure why it happened. Only happened once so far. I wish this was bigger so all of my cats could use it because it works great and it's easy to change out the bag. It would be great if they had a larger size that you could buy. Finally, this cannot be put on carpeting. So, if you live in an apartment like my friend, you will need to put something underneath it. ... show more

Really great value for what you get! The filter came pre-installed and there was very little needed to set it up. Some of the buttons are not super intuitive, but the manual it comes with is helpful, so keep it around in case you need troubleshooting or to remember how to use each function. After two weeks, the litter stopped moving through the filter. I called the support line and had no wait time to speak to someone. They asked me what litter I was using, and advised me to calibrate the waste bin. That solved the problem right away! Very happy with this purchase. It doesn’t smell, works great, my cat used it within the first day. Your cat will use it sooner if you keep the old litter box a little dirty (gross but effective). ... show more
