I watched the videos on how to program, read the instructions... I spent more time making sure I knew what I was doing than it took to do it. Our Xterra came with one fob and two keys, since it's a family car driven by many people including two teenagers I wanted at least one fob in a hidden key holder for the day when I get the "mom, I locked the keys in the car" call. These are far more affordable than an actual new key. They won't be helpful if the keys are lost, but that's a whole other problem. A decent, aftermarket remote entry fob. They no longer include printed instructions; you must go to the remotesremotes dot com website to lookup instructions, with search by make, year and model. It took several tries, but once the programming procedure completed correctly, the remote works flawlessly. This model is a four function remote; lock, unlock, trunk/hatch release and alarm activate/deactivate. Battery is preinstalled, so once programmed, you're ready to go, immediately. I really like these remote key fobs except that no programming instructions were included. I had to do a Google search to find instructions. The instructions were a little funky and I had to try 4 times to get the key fob programmed, even with the help of my engineer friend.
