The convenience it offers is outstanding – no more frequent scooping or worrying about odor control (If you replace the bag once a week). The automatic cleaning function is both efficient and quiet-ish, ensuring a clean space for my cat and making things much easier. The built-in sensors work great, though since I have the litter box in my office, I often will use the app to activate the cleaning as soon as she is done (she is quite stinky). Being able to monitor usage has been nice, especially when I’m not at home. The app also tracks litter levels, so I know exactly when to top it up, which takes the guesswork out of maintenance. Overall, this Smart Litter Box has certainly met expectations, just keep in mind it isn't going to completely stop the smell if you don't clean it when you should, but at least it is really easy to take out the bag, tie it off and replace it, no scooping needed! ... show more

    • Mildly obsessed with this litter box.

I debated buying an automatic litter box for a long time, but some family members have them and swear by them, so figured I’d give it a try. I’m so glad I did. This box was easy to set up, and does a great job scooping. It’s not messy, and because the arm scoops all the way up and around and then into the tray the waste doesn’t get stuck like it does in my other auto box (see comments below). It’s also really quiet and scoops pretty quickly. I like being able to track how many times my kitties use it, and they actually seem to love it because it’s always clean now. One of my kitties is really particular about his litter box, and would pee outside it if it wasn’t clean enough for him. He hasn’t peed anywhere he’s not supposed to since we started using the SmartElf. I have four cats, and two litter boxes for reference. I’ve found that the waste bag needs to be changed every three of four days. The odor blocking tray also does a great job of keeping odors in. I can’t smell the waste at all until I open the box to change the bag. I also bought a different kind of self cleaning box, it’s a really basic tray with a scooping arm, and it’s so much worse than the SmartElf. It’s messier, and doesn’t do as good of a job at scooping the poops (the brand is PetSafe ScoopFree for reference). It cost about the same as the SmartElf, which is wild to me.     • No More Scooping! Really great solution for dirty work

We recently adopted a 3-month old kitten, my first cat since childhood. There was no such thing as an automatic cat box back then, so this is amazing! We started using the SMARTELF auto cat litter box about a week after adoption. The setup was straightforward, as was getting the app downloaded and paired. Our kitten was very interested in the unboxing, and once setup she started using it immediately. We've been using walnut cat litter and find it works well with this rake system and there's very little if any odor. It’s made managing the litter box much easier, eliminating the need for daily scooping - we empty the bin once a week. Overall, it’s a practical and low-maintenance solution that we’re very satisfied with. Having a longer power supply cord would be helpful, but I appreciate the extra maintenance parts and bags that were included. Highly recommended! ... show more

This has been an amazing and awesome product I used to have to scoop the kitty litter myself but since getting this it has made a difference, and I know even my cat loves it. After the first use show uses it with no problems at all and also I love that the door shuts so that she does not get hurt. I was reluctant to adopt kittens from local shelter because I do not want to scoop litter boxes agian. My Husband agreed that if we adopt kittens I get to purchase Robo box. After extensive reviewing self cleaning litter boxes the ONLY choice was SMARTELF! It comes assembled, sturdy, very quite and litter collection is a breeze! Just change out litter bag and easily replace with fresh one. We adopted 2 kittens and I have found that every 7 - 9 days is purrfect. I went back and forth between several of the models when I was shopping and then settled on the Elspet, even though it was a bit more expensive than some of the other models. I liked the fact that it closed during cleanup because I have a deaf white cat who is not the sharpest tool in the shed and I wanted to protect him. I really liked the blue light bacteria abatement, to keep the kids from tracking germs all over the house, especially since all of them are in and out of my bed! The last reason was because it didn’t rotate the entire chassis to clean the unit; this seems like a lot of work for the unit and a point of early failure. The Elspet uses a rake to clean the litter and the system is under much less strain overall, plus it allows for more types of litter use, and I prefer the tofu because it doesn’t track as easily. When I received the unit it was easy to setup. There wasn’t any real assembly other than placing some spongy parts in the unit to keep litter out of the chassis. The box is very large! What I didn’t expect was the extra rake and spongy parts they included. They obviously expect the unit to run for a very long time and included extra parts that saw wear and tear for the unit. There were also the bags for the waste catcher and a nice brush to clean things up. I was very surprised and impressed by the extra parts and by their quality. My cats are doing well with their new box. It’s very quiet, the only way I know it’s going is I hear the hiss of the litter being sifted and an underlying hum. I have had 4 or 5 different electronic litter boxes over the past 20 years and I feel really good about this purchase. It doesn’t have any of the failure points of the others and it is well designed and very well made. ... show more
