It is equipped with sensors that detect the presence of humans or cats within approximately 0.5 meters. The box automatically pauses its operation when someone or a cat gets close. The media could not be loaded. I purchased this litter box at the end of Feb. 2024 and so far (it’s now Apr. 2024) I have no complaints - I LOVE it! It’s quiet, it functions well, and I like that I can control it via the smartphone app. It has been a life- AND time-saver for me! FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO MAY HAVE TROUBLE GETTING YOUR CAT(S) TO USE IT INITIALLY, here’s what I suggested to a friend of mine about helping their cat get used to an automatic box: My cat’s litter box has always been in my bathroom so what I did when I got the automatic one is sit the old one outside of the bathroom door. I didn’t empty it but I took a few scoops of the “used” litter and put it in the new automatic box on top of the fresh litter. That helped her to try it out right away. I transitioned the old litter into the new box (with the “new” litter) over the course of a week or so until the old one was empty. My cat was a little skittish about the automatic cleaning cycle at first but she got used to it fairly quickly. Once all the old litter was gone from the old box, I washed that litter box so she didn’t have an urge to use it. She uses the automatic one just fine now (no nervousness) and it’s SO much easier for me to manage (clean the inside or empty the waste pan). Not much odor control. The collection drawer beneath has a small rectangular odor device that's supposed to help. Not so much. The drawer fills in about a week or a 1.5. I added some odor scents to the litter itself which was not appreciated by my kitty and she quickly let me know. I tried another system that was very complex. I also like that this system isn't as heavy and a bit smaller. Although the waste collection isn't completely enclosed that's a small thing to me I'll find other ways to minimize the odor. The location is upstairs in a closet so not many guest. The device works as it should. My kitty's paws are clean, she doesn't have to step in dirty litter. Makes the job simpler Literally less than 2 minutes to clean. The bags that comes with the device are very cheap and tear. I ordered Leo's litter bags which are heavy duty and less messy. Overall I'm satisfied. Another thing I like is the machine works without the app being installed unlike thr last machine I had which I sent back. I hate having a bunch of apps on my phone using my storage frivolously. The safety feature works great also. I was curious and crept up to take a peak inside as it was doing its job also and it stopped. It's also very quiet. ... show more
