The metal parts were very strong and accurately cast and the seat cushion and back felt well designed and carefully made. Everything was packed well and all parts were labeled clearly for assembly. It was pretty easy to put together and I was done in about 20 minutes on my own. I’ll admit I did not initially like this chair once I had put it together and tried it out. The seat was very firm and the back of the chair was thin and uncomfortable. If you are coming from an old, plush chair, just give it a day or two to break in and get used to the difference. It's actually pretty comfortable now and it supports my back nicely. The lumbar support works surprisingly well and is a feature I definitely need these days. The arms raise and lower with a (tough) push of a button on each side, which is a nice feature to suit people of all sizes. I'm only 5' even and it's difficult to find a chair that works well for short people. This is one of few. I can sit with my feet flat on the floor from the lowest position, yet I am at just the right height for my keyboard tray and monitor. In terms of comfort, I do prefer my old chair. But it was on its last legs (no pun intended!) and had no cushioning left to it and made more creaking sounds than my back and knees. HOWEVER, this new chair has many features that my old one did not that I like the more I get used to it. It has adjustable lumbar support, the proper height for my neck, hands, and feet, and it easily glides across my carpet without catching or getting stuck. The only drawback for me is the armrests. There is no padding or cushioning on them, and I find them just a little less comfortable than I'd prefer. Also, the armrests do not reach all the way to the back of the chair, so if I'm wearing an oversized t-shirt, sometimes my sleeve will catch on the back part of the armrest when I move. Overall, it's a really decent chair with a lot going for it. It would not have been my first choice if they still made my old chair, but I think in the long run, my body will definitely appreciate this one more. ... show more

This chair we bought for our daughter’s room. It’s very easy to assemble, the instructions are very clear, it can be put together in 20 minutes, and it provides excellent back support. Very stylish! A significant plus is that it has a footrest, so our daughter can comfortably sit and put her feet.
