  • Amazing, premium titanium pan
Okay, so the price on this pan is kinda eye-wateringly high for a frying/saute pan, although not unusually high in comparison to the most premium brands for pots and pans -- I've had pans of this general shape and size that cost anywhere from $20-$300, so the big questions are always how well it works and how long it lasts. e.g., A cheap pan that has to be thrown out in 6 months because the metal warped or the non-stick coating or ceramics chipped off -- well, that's not so cheap after all, if you're rebuying that pan frequently for the rest of your life, or accidentally eating non-stick coating chips. While an expensive pan that will last your entire lifetime and can be handed down to your kids is, if you think about it, actually ver cost effective, if you divide the cost of the pan over multiple years.... But sometimes those expensive pans don't actually last that long, or simple don't work as well as you'd hoped. It can be a gamble! But I'm happy to say in my initial tests with this "Our Place titanium always pan," we're dealing with a true all-star. First, even the packaging offers a premium experience (this is a very giftable item), and once you've unpacked it, you know you're looking at something expensive -- it looks and feels like a luxury race-car of pans, strong, nicely weighted, smooth curves. And it cooks great! It worked perfectly on my induction stove-top, and the non-stick aspect worked amazingly well with a bit of cooking oil (especially since it's using a fancy micro-texture in the metal trick to create the nonstick effect, instead of using chemical or ceramic coating -- it's maybe not as buttery-smooth non-stick as some of those other pans, but it works better than most other nonstick pans I've tried that have tried to do without the delicate layers of materials that always eventually wear off).... So, anyway, this is a terrific pan right out of the gate -- but the remaining question will be how long it lasts. As long as the non-stick texture on the metal doesn't wear down over time, it feels like this is a pan that should be good for decades, if not more. But we'll have to weight and see! ... show more

  • This Pan is the Enchanted Sword For A Hero Chef
On receipt of this pan I look forward to testing the non-stick claims. I needed a new frying pan and all the old one's failed. I have cast iron and yes you cab make them work as long as you don't mind never really washing them. I went straight to the gold standard mushroom and two cheese milk leavened four egg omelette/hollandaise sauce and smoked salmon garnish, country potatoes and bacon breakfast for two. The pan was fabulous! I know the stove and the pan's use of the heat was easy to control. First I oiled the pan lightly as directed with a light high temp oil then added 6 strips of "thick" sliced bacon at medium heat and presto crisped edges and surfaces perfectly; Removed the potatoes for three persons added using the bacon fat. The potatoes fried ant medium high and through out the cooking I was able to toss them with a flick of the pan. They cooked like Mary Poppins acts [practically perfectly in every wa} I wiped the pan with a paper towel to get out the bits of onions and spices and melted 1/4 butter at medium heat. The omelet went in and spread properly with the edges expanding as the egg cooked. Again the omelette remained free in the pan and slid around without sticking for the addition of the cheeses and shrooms. The final fold when well as there was no sticking, with the bottom an appetizing mottled brown. I was able to use the metal handle throughout the entire cooking process but the front was beginning to be too hot near the end. I had expected it to be hot at once as is the case with most metal handled pans but it seems the design uses a handle that is slow to spread heat. This pan is like a charmed sword and will elevate your cooking. It has mine. No stick no burn. ... show more

  • Really enjoying this pan, thankfully.
Thankfully I’m really liking this pan and it’s working nicely. Which better be the case for it being almost $200. For that price, I’m expecting it to last a lifetime… not even kidding. I better be able to hand this down through the family for generations to come. It’s very sturdy and has a good heft to it. I Like the size and versatility of it and my boyfriend and I have found that we can cook just about anything we want in it. Most importantly, we are very happy that it is nonstick without having a surface that can chip or wear off. As you can see in the photos, the surface is really cool and unique. And it’s actually really easy to clean out. It’s also convenient to have a spot to put the spoon right on the pan while things are cooking. Albeit I was hoping for a spoon that was a little nicer. I definitely have other wooden spoons that are nicer than this one. And while I do really like this pan a lot, i’m afraid you’re going to have to decide for yourself whether you think it’s worth this price tag. I do hope this review is helpful and you have a wonderful day! ... show more

  • Heavy duty interior
Our Place Titanium Always Pan Pro is a heavy pan. It has a fully polished chrome lid and spatula. The pan interior has slightly raised honeycomb pattern, which provides superior non-stick properties without the use of non-stick coatings. I use little butter/oil for browning an flavor, but minimal is needed. Testing with eggs or a chicken breast dos not stick. I heat up the pan to as high temp as possible and an egg sizzles and meat sears quickly and evenly. Everything releases/slides off easily. Dragging a T-bone steak while flipping does not scratch the interior as some coated pans can't hold up to bones of any kind. This can handle occasional metal utensil, but I usually try to use noscratch silicone or wooden spatulas nevertheless. The only thing I don't like is the notch where the handle attaches. It allows the spatula to rest. Silly concept and bad outcomes. Several times when I'm swirling the pan with a finishing sauce, some hot liquid gushed out of the notched back portion of the pan. Very weird design and achiles heel of this pan. Clean up is easy with just soap and water with a sponge. No scouring need with any abrasives to protect the interior surface. Very nice sautee pan that should last a while. ... show more
