This is easy to use and seems to work just fine for my cat who doesn't jump. I'm having construction done on my house and needed something temporary to keep my cats from walking into the part of the house under construction. It is solid enough for cats but I think that a big dog might be able to push it over if it weren't placed well. This is a great item to keep your pets out of where they are not supposed to be. It lasted 4.5 years before a piece of plastic broke off while I was securing it and I am ordering the same gate again. These are much better than the wooden gates. They are sturdy and strong and lasted quite awhile. I used it daily for 4.5 years before it broke. It’s tick season in the Northwoods so we wanted to keep our dog off our bed. We priced dog gates in the store and they were about $50 more expensive than this purchase. I can’t even believe the price of dog gates these days. The gate is very lightweight however, it is very sturdy, when you lock it into place it doesn’t move. We are very pleased with this purchase and highly recommend it. Our dog has not been able to knock it over at all. Our dog is 45 pounds and this gate is at the right height to keep her from trying to jump over it. The gate is very easy to install. Nice looking dog gate, but the way it’s made, easily allows dogs to climb it and get over it. Can’t use it now. I would recommend a taller one or something they can’t climb.

Its hard to get the gate to stay upright and push against the walls. The way the gate locks and latches is also a bit weird and takes some time to figure out. My dog did end up breaking the gate so I wouldnt recommend this for a medium sized dog who jumps on things.
