I first want to say, you can set this up to use in two different spots! I somehow missed that when looking at this product and was so pleased when I set this up and was able to use the second set of hardware for my other hallway that I needed a gate for. This was super quick and easy to put up. The directions make sense and comes with paper guides to mark where your screws need to go to have the correct distance for your hardware, and once it's set up it feels really secure. This is also super easy to open when you need through (and it retracts really smoothly for me), and to move it between the two spots. When I move my girl from one room to the other, I just pop it right out and slide it into the other one. Couldn't be easier. The height is perfect. It's high enough that my girl doesn't try to put her leg up to try to climb out like she does on another gate I had, but it is low enough that I can step over it if I don't feel like opening it which is a little funny. It is more durable than I expected. My toddler is 20 months old and has pulled and pushed on the mesh and hasn't damaged it. I was really hesitant to buy it because of the mesh. I felt like it wouldn't hold up, but it has so far! I honestly have nothing negative to say about this. So far, ten out of ten! ... show more

For the cheap price this cant be beat. I'm going to be giving birth in a few weeks and we needed something to keep the dogs out of the living room. Install was super easy though the sticky pads weren't very great at holding them in place. We installed ours directly into our doorframe so my husband just held the snaps where they needed to be and I drilled the screws right in. However these snaps/clasps do appear to be made of cheap plastic. I suspect in a couple months I'll have to rig up a makeshift metal replacement when one inevitably breaks, but for only about $30 for this gate I don't mind having to do that. This worked perfect for my family as our dogs are very obedient and don't attempt to jump gates. However, if your dog is destructive or likes to jump I could see the plastic sheeting and clips easily busting and ripping with a single good try. Same can be said for any rowdy toddlers. If a simple sheet and plastic would do the trick for your situation this is great. If you need something that can take a beating this won't replace a classic metal gate. ... show more

I prefer these than the wood baby gates, I kept tripping on them and it was annoying to have to move them. But this is like a curtain I can open and close as I wish. The quality is good but to remove it off the wall it gets stuck but I don't plan to move it around. It's large and covers what I need to block my dogs out of certain areas. It was a bit difficult to install because the wall is thick and I only had a manual screwdriver. But other than that it's great ... show more

    • Let light through and mostly prevent passage
I like these gates- they're tall enough that my dogs can't jump over, but short enough that my cats can. They let tons of light through (PSA: they are close to invisible in the dark even with a nightlight behind them. You have been warned. You're welcome.). The only downside I've found is that unless the gate is mounted almost flush to the floor, there's enough give in the material that a determined dog (thanks, Mimi) can get under it, especially once they've seen another dog do it. I had mine about 4 inches off the floor initially to allow for robovacs and cats to go under if they wanted and a 50lb dog managed to sploot under it. Hilarious, but defeats the purpose of the gate.     • Very easy to install and safe
My 2 yr old can't climb this gate , it's easy to open And close and retracts into place and is hardly noticed when it's not in use . I purchase 2 of these gates and they work great , if you have a rumba .. Rumba can't slide under the gate and it also keeps pets out of areas they are not safe in

    • Easy Install, but not perfect
Fairly easy install, but the gate is not perfect. We bought this to help keep our little bichon "corralled" in one section of the house or the other. It worked great for a bout a week until she figured out that with enough determination even the 1/8th inch gap at the bottom is enough for her to force the bottom up so she can squeeze thru. A little disappointing that it can't stop out little dog, but it does keep the robo-vacuum from throwing itself down the stairs. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Bought this to keep our puppy from accessing part of our house at night, and couldn’t be happier! It was super easy to install, and really easy to operate with one hand. I like that when open, it preserves the whole width of the hallway unlike other baby gates.     • Love the wide width and tall height, but hardware leaves something to be desired.

We have a large opening between our living room and dining area that we wanted to be able to block off for both our toddler and our large dog, and this was one of the few that was wide enough and also retractable. LOVE the overall construction, the fact that it's tall enough to prevent our dog from jumping it, and that it tucks away neatly and can be locked/unlocked. Main issues we've had with it are the plastic hardware being prone to cracking. Not through regular use, but for things like a 100+ lb. dog trying to use it as a vertical hammock or a toddler yanking on it. As I said, not regular use per-se, but wear and tear that might be common for people who need gates in the first place. We bought two of these and went through the backup hardware slowly over the last couple years as pieces broke, and this is the third gate we've bought, mainly because we needed more hardware but they don't sell it separately. Would buy this gate again, but would love to be able to buy a separate hardware set or have the hardware being made out of something sturdier. ... show more
