The gate is perfect. I have two cats and a dog. The dog was always getting into the cat room and eating all the cat food. With the gate, the cats can pass through it but the dog is too large to get in. The cats are happy, I’m happy, not do much the dog.

    • Easy enough to install, and it works, but watch out for crown molding
Great gate, love that it opens in both directions and that the cat door opens without swinging out. However, we didn’t realize that the space we needed it for has crown molding at the base of the walls; since the rubber that holds the gate in place has to be against a flat wall, we couldn’t install the gate flush against the floor. So now we have to step over the gate bottom every time we pass through. We have to warn guests about it and jokingly call it our “sobriety test”. So, check your space before you get this and make sure the wall is at 90 degrees to the floor at the very bottom, with no curved crown molding to mess it up. ... show more

We are a cat household and will be hosting a canine visitor. This was relatively easy to install. Very easy to open with one hand and will stay open if you leave it at 90 degrees, but will self-close otherwise. Seems sturdy, cat adjusted to it with no problem—we’ll find out how effective it is for confining the dog next week 🤞 I got two of these—the first was for a narrow doorway & it was good so I added this one. As a warning, make sure you measure properly because there’s not much flexibility in fitting—just the length of the bolts that are adjusted for pressure mounting. ... show more

    • Just what I needed!

My doorways are super narrow so this was the only gate I could find with the dimensions and had the little cat door. The installation was a little difficult but only because my doorway is just wide enough to squeeze the gate in there. Try not to cut the zip tie until you are able to install with all the stopper things. I initially thought I was only able to fit 3 of those on but I ended up pulling the gate just enough to get all 4 on. Thankfully I didn’t break it. Would have been easier if I had left the zip tie on. This was exactly what I needed and the latch, lock, and little cat door work great!! ... show more

With an older house doorways can sometimes be a little off, so it took longer than expected to install it. Once installed, it has been working as expected. The cats have been able to access the basement (their quiet space) without the pups following them. I was going to pull this gate out of the box before heading to the local Home Depot...But ended up setting it all up without a single glitch. Yay! I love all the features, and since I'm a stumbler, I really appreciate the threshold. I have another gate from another company, for a smaller span...and although the previously purchased gate is good, this far exceeds it in sturdiness and quality. And did I forget to mention the feature that closes the gate after me...or leaves it open? So lovely..haha...obviously I highly recommend this gate. One more thought on the subject of which size to get: I tried to overthink measurements, but I suggest you simply measure and follow the site's recommendations )) ... show more
