For additional security, this gate offers one swinging walk-through panel built with a childproof double-locking system. This gate panel is an extra-wide 25.5 inches wide making it the perfect size for the entire family. To keep the gate panel open, simply use the hold-open feature to prevent the gate from closing. When the gate is not in use, simply swing it out of the way. You’ll love this option for when guests are over. The Deluxe Décor Gate hardware mounts on straight or angled walls using pivot points on the gate panels. It’s ideal for a variety of room openings measuring 38.3 to 72 inches wide and is 30 inches high. -I wasn't sure if this would fit an exact 72 inch opening based on the mixed reviews, but it does. You must do step 3, otherwise when you unbox it it appears to be short. Step 3 lengthens it just enough. -Additionally, we thought the lock mechanism was broken bc when it would shut it would not lock. however user manual has details on how to adjust the screw by the latch so the lines line up and it will then automatically lock every time it shorts. we almost returned it before seeing this. -love how easy it is to remove from wall. -we did forget to account for the rug it's on when measuring the height on the wall - hopefully others won't do the same. I was worried about the off white look, but it blends with our white trim fine. ... show more

    • ADD RUBBER GRIP PADS, Durable, beautiful, simple to install and use gate

Keeping this 5 stars, but adding some user suggestions or even suggestions for the manufacturer too. 1. ADD RUBBER GRIP PADS to the bottom of each corner of the gate where it hinges and touches the floor. Do this only if installing the gate over HARD floors. This will protect your floor from children who like to push and pull and kick the gate which causes it to move slightly back and forth and cause a nice scratch in your floor if you do not have these pads. it will add more grip and keep the gate from budging at all. I bought 1.5 inch self adhesive rubber grip pads from Walmart and I found them to be perfect size. 2. If you are trying to keep a small cat or dog inside the gated area you will need to weave cardboard or some other material in and out of the bars to keep small animals from squeezing between the bars. This is almost a reason for me to remove one star, but it is such a great gate and I bought it originally for child as it is designed for anyway. Recently started fostering kittens, and up went the cardboard to keep them in kitchen till litter-box-trained. 6 months and still going strong. Fantastic product. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- original review as follows: Super easy to mount and to use. Look no further, unless you utterly refuse to drill a few holes (10 total). I have only had the gate for a week or less, but I'm convinced it's the best I have ever used and seen. There is no assembly required other than mounting the gate and making some minor adjustments by loosening and re tightening a screw or two. Only suggestion I might have is to mount the bracket that touches the floor, then put the gate on that mount, next clip the mount that goes on the upper corner then mark on the wall where you want it. This will be easier than the included paper mounting guides and it will allow you to make the gate super snug if so desired. This will also allow you to account for any potential imperfections in your floor.... or just use the included guides, whatever makes most sense to you. TIP 2: if you put this gate between a kitchen and carpeted area, I suggest putting the gate on the kitchen side so that if your children take food to the gated limit they will get messes on the hard floor and not the carpet. ... show more

Have gotten a variety of gates for pets and now grandbaby. This is the best of the best. Pay the extra money if you plan to do the wall install. It mounts easily with their templates, opens and closes easily, and stays open if you leave it that way. Great product!

Doing some research, this model was one of the only ones that would have been able to fit my awkward stair setups. They can be setup and locked in at any angle. The white is more of an ivory, which is prefer more a bright white, but the dark one is really nice looking.
