  • Genious! Can't live without it!
Style: 4 Egg Microwave Boiler
I used to hate making deviled eggs. I had to start out with twice as many as I actually needed because I could not get the shells off. Not any more! This is the greatest little kitchen gadget I've found in ages. I now have peeled hard boiled eggs on hand for a quick breakfast all the time and deviled eggs are no longer something to dread! Nothing could be easier. You fill the base up to the line with water and place the egg tray. You use the little pin they provide and puncture the rounded end of the egg, placing it hole side up. It states that it is designed for eggs no larger than "large", which is perfect for our use. You place the cover over the base and rotate it slightly until it latches. Put it in the microwave for the time specified for the degree of hardness you prefer. When it is done, removed the lid, run under cold water for a minute and remove the shells. This is the greatest part, they practically fall off! I haven't ruined one egg since I started using this gadget. Each and every one comes out perfect! And while another reviewer complained about cracked eggs, out of the many many dozens that I have made, I have had maybe one or two crack. I found that you can tell if an egg is prone to cracking by looking at the shell before putting it in, it will look thin or show hairline fractures. Pick eggs that look solid and you should have no problem. Despite continual use for many months, mine also shows no sign of the warping that the other poster complained of. Perhaps she got a defective one? Bottom line is that this works so great, I recently ordered another for our winter home in Florida. I couldn't bear the idea of not having it for 4 months and I didn't want to have to remember to haul it back and forth, so I now have two. I looked at other brands before ordering the second one, but couldn't find any that I liked the design of as well. One feature that this one has that others did not is the silicone handles. This is VERY important with handling something with boiling water in it when removing it from the microwave! If you are looking for something to make up to 4 soft to hard boiled eggs at a time, look no further! This is as good as it gets! ... show more

  • Joie microwave egg boiler
Style: 4 Egg Microwave Boiler
This is the best thing ever for making boiled eggs in the morning for breakfast or for making egg salad for sandwiches. Six minutes cooks four eggs perfectly. I cook them 6 minutes then let them stand for 6 minutes before peeling to eat. The yolks are cooked perfectly and they peel very easily. I love it and have gotten several for Christmas presents. I highly recommend this item. ... show more

  • Absolute no no!
Style: 4 Egg Microwave Boiler
Bought this for my daughter to use in the dorm. Tested it at home and it exploded in 4 minutes!! I'm so glad this didn't happen in her dorm. Cleaning nightmare! Cheap finish and not worth a penny. Going to return!

  • Microwave Egg Steamer
Style: 4 Egg Microwave Boiler
I bought this primarily because of the handles. It works great. I can take it out of the microwave and not have to throw it into the sink because it's so hot. I like that I can cook jumbo eggs in it with no problem. You can also screw the lid on so it won't open in the microwave (in case an egg bursts). You just have to line up the notches and turn. I only gave it four stars for 2 reasons. Number 1: the instructions for cooking the eggs are WAY off. It takes at least 6 and a half minutes to cook a jumbo egg (or extra large) not 4 minutes. When I tried it for 4 minutes (just 2 eggs not 4) the eggs came out raw,(and yes I left them alone for 2 minutes) I put them back in for more time,(and again left them for 2 minutes as per the instructions) and they were still raw. So I finally just threw them out and fried 2 new eggs. Number 2: the instructions say to pierce the shell with the enclosed pin. You have to pierce the larger side and then place them pierced side up. The white of the egg then oozed out the tiny hole and they were still raw. I have a Nokia egg microwave egg cooker (works fine but has no handles and gets REALLY HOT) which doesn't instruct you to pierce the eggs. I must have been lucky because the eggs have never exploded. Anyway, I tried cooking them and not piercing the eggs and cooked them for a longer time and they came out fine. I also found that the eggs cook better larger side down. I use the bottom part of the egg steamer to cool the eggs in. I pour cold water on them in the bottom part of the steamer. I do love this cooker and am glad I bought it. And for those who say it takes too long to cook and soft boiled/hard boiled eggs that way, it may seem shorter on the stove, but the water still has to come to a boil and that takes time, the eggs still crack/explode in the water on the stove (always pleasant), the eggs are really hot also when cooked on the stove, and the stove method heats up the kitchen/house (which is really unpleasant in the summer and particularly if you live in a small house or in an apartment.) I've tried both ways (stove and microwave) and I'll stick with microwave. ... show more

  • It really works!
Style: 4 Egg Microwave Boiler
This small little egg cooker really works great. It is simple to use and makes 4 boiled eggs in less than 10 min. The beauty of this little device is the ease of cleanup and the microwave does the cooking for you.

  • BEWARE, the handles are HOT!
Style: 4 Egg Microwave Boiler
I have the Nordic Ware model but wanted one with handles. Had to set it on a plate in the microwave. This model with handles is cute and smaller. Immediately put 4 large eggs in and only pierced one. Set my 1,000 watt microwave to 8 minutes like my NW. I tested the handles and they were too hot to handle. I allowed it to sit in microwave for about 20+ minutes like I do with the NW. Removed it holding onto handles. When I removed the lid, eggs looked perfect. None exploded and they were perfectly hard boiled. This is easier to use and I like that the lid turns just slightly to lock. Just wish those cute orange handles didn't get hot, too. ... show more
