  • Safe, top them all the way off!
Style: Space Heater
I have been refilling disposable bottles for years with cheap neck fill adapters. This is a BIG upgrade. I will never buy another bottle of propane. I bought 4 of these, love them so much i bought 8 more! These are great, works woth the custom refill adapter, same brand. The vent release only works while filling, no risk of it venting any other time. You must use the custom filler and no other will work. There is a safety detent pin that overrides the bottles vent pin to the vent valve. There is still a safety pressure relief valve on the bottle. These are high quality and will be inherited by my grandkids some day. I bought magnetic stem protectors and carry case, thise are not included. They did come with good sturdy plastic caps. I never write long reviews, to do so on a propane bottle speaks volumes. These things can be topped of to your liking. They really hold a max volume of LPG. maximizing your time. I burn a lantern on max for 8 HOURS on 1 bottle. This has changed my camping style. I cannot go without these. If you disposable propane bottles see these and don't buy them your messing up. Buy them now. ... show more

  • Great idea
Style: Space Heater
I bought the refill kit That included Legs Refill Valve That would fit 20 and £30 pound Propane bottle Fuel tanks. The fuel keg is specifically made for this kit. They can be filled Quickly safely And efficiently. Perfect for my use- even better cuts down on "Disposables" An additional shout of praise to Amazon and the delivery team. May not be too crazy about the current formats on the kindle Fire, but the delivery service is first rate. Bill Hodges ... show more

  • Refillable propane canisters--the way to go for safety
Style: Space Heater
I transport 1lb propane canisters and reluctant to put the throw-away ones in my vehicle so I looked into these compared to flame king. I used to refill throw-away ones but after seeing a few rust, I got nervous about the safety aspect. These are much sturdier (and they should be given they will be re-used many times) and heavier than the throw-away canisters. I went with Mr. Heater from various reviews online comparing the two. Make sure you check the sleeve on the refillable tanks, they have a tendency to stick to the nozzle on this kit. If they stick, your tanks will leak and you will know it. It will take me three or more refills before this approach starts paying for itself. ... show more

  • This is a DANGEROUS DEFECTIVE product
Style: Space Heater
I have been filling 5G tanks on a wet leg on my home 500gallon tank for 40 years and 4lb bottles for a decade with an adapter and schrader tool. This seemed more elegant. I burnt all the hair off my arms my eye brows and eye lashes. Why? The bottles are defective. The filler grabs the loose oring and white plastic spacer when you remove it from the filler. How do I know? I investigated after this incident and say two sets of orings and spacers stuck on the filler on the inverted 5g tank. The result is the tank leaks when installed and relies on thread seal... This leaks enough gas to rach a citronella candle 6 feet away and whoosh... Took the time of me threading the bottle into a table top pyramid heater.... Maybe 3-4 seconds. It torched the pyramid and table and everything near it. This product needs to be pulled from the market. I was fortunate to have an extinguisher a quick run away to kill the o2 to the gas fire... All of this is in the garbage not the recycle. AVOID like death folks. It is not the filler it is the tank as the parts went from tank to filler not the other way around . ... show more

  • Be aware of safety for flammable gas, minus is plastic cap and that black gets hotter in the sun.
Style: Space Heater
Be aware of safety measures for working with flammable gas. Minus one star for color and lacking metal cap for positive seal of filled bottle. Requires proprietary filler to actuate the vent valve but can otherwise be filled using any of the generic adapters on the market already used to refill the non refillable bottles. I would not trust the valve in the disposables for too many uses, since it was not designed for repeated use. The valve on these takes much more pressure to open when connecting it to a hose, your stove, torch, etc. The disposables are much thinner steel as well. Buy brass caps with a seal, this comes with plastic cap only suitable for keeping debris out of the inlet while storing empties. Don’t forget to flip the big bottle upside down so you fill with liquid rather than gas. ... show more

  • Worked well
Style: Space Heater
I wrote additional detail my review of the bundled fill apparatus and key. All 3 kegs (1 with the bundle, and 2 purchased separately) arrived on-time, undamaged, and seemed to be new. The fill process was as advertised. it took about 1 min and 17 seconds (from a full 20 lb tank). The Fuel Kegs weighed 1 lb heavier after filling (as expected). I bought brass caps (with rubber seals) separately, and used those instead of the plastic cap that comes with the kegs. I tested one one of the Fuel Kegs in a "Big Buddy" portable propane heater. It fit fine (and allowed the access door to close), and provided sufficient flow for low, med, and high. I got these for emergency prep, so I likely wont' be able to comment on how they hold up under frequent use, but I'm very pleased with this purchase. ... show more

  • 1 of 3 has defective purge system.
Style: Space Heater
I bought three of these tanks. And of course you have to buy the proprietary fill system with it. Two of the tanks work great. The third though, not so much. The pin system for the purge valve gets stuck in the down position, so when you open the purge valve, propane comes out. Mind you, this tank is not attached to anything. I found by using a small screwdriver pushing the pin in and out a few times helped reseat it. But you shouldn't have to do this. I'm going to return that third tank. Overall I'm pleased with the system, and hopefully this is a one-off, but judging from some other reviews, it's not. Pay close attention to that pin and make sure it's in the full upward position. Turn the purge valve and if gas comes out it's not seated properly. ... show more
