Well it might not be the "best" seat in the house but I can tell you this much it sure is comfortable. It seems home offices are popping up all over our house, why? I'm not exactly sure but recently my better half decided there should be a small office in the guest room. So knowing better then to even question the need for this it's off to Amazon and begin shopping. Not so long ago I did tons of research on and off Amazon for a glass top computer desk and office chair. Luckily I still have enough brain cells kicking that I could remember what I had liked and this chair was one of them so along with a glass top desk, click and buy. In relation to the cost the chair is an excellent bargain. The build quality is quite good, it's a snap to put together. Over the past 30 years I have no idea how many of these things I've assembled but I'll tell you I despise it. I would rather have a root canal than assemble furniture - probably because I'm terrible at it I'm the type of person that still can't figure out which end of a hammer to use. But there's comfort in knowing I'm not alone. That said, I can assure you this chair is easy to assemble it took me about 30 minutes so you'll have it done in around ten. One word of advice - because of the plastic don't use an electric screwdriver or you're bound to strip the treads. I ordered the gray mesh which has a great aesthetic to it, especially for smaller desks and rooms. Aside from the seat being a bit to short for thigh support the chair is surprisingly comfortable not to firm an not too soft - Goldilocks would be pleased. Plus there's a tension adjuster underneath the seat so can find that elusive sweet spot for back support. What's Good: * Smooth operation of swivel * ABS Plastic should hold up well * Coasters at Feet * Solid feel * Arms can be raised * Excellent Lumbar support * Sleek modern look * Adjustable height * Adjustable back tension support * Comfortable It's nice there's a selection of color and materials - faux leather doesn't breath, real leather would easily double the price of this chair so for me, the mesh was the best way to go. The chair really does have a great look to it. It's modern, upscale and I suppose even a bit sexy if chairs can be sexy. Regardless, it's transitional enough in design to work in most any decor. MSRP prices are always inflated and unrealistic, I dismiss them regardless of what I'm buying. However a chair of this quality would easily sell for $200 - $250 at a big box office store. Set up: Very easy to follow diagrams -- I was a little worried after reading some of the reviews but the pictures were easy and from the time I opened the box to the time I could sit in it, only 27 minutes passed! I was able to do it all myself by using my dining room table to prop the chair. Color: When I ordered the chair I think it said the color was red -- the box says burgundy-- and the real color is rather in between. I just didn't want the same old black chair - so any bright color would have been fine for me. But if you really really want red, this definitely has a blue undertone that you may not like. Feel and fit: I bought the chair to use at home. The lower lumbar support is ideal for me -- I usually sit at my desk, lean back and put my feet up while I watch netflix and knit... I'm 5' 7" and the chair fits me really well at all range of settings. I find the chair easy to adjust. I'm short-waisted and the arm rests are a bit high for me. Luckily they are easy to move up and out of the way. If you need more support for your upper back I don't think this would be a good chair for you -- the adjustment that tilts the chair forward seems less giving than the adjustment to tilt back. The cushion is firm and I like it. I'm a little worried that my cat is going to sharpen her nails on the sides, which was the downfall of my last chair of over 10 years -- but perhaps the mesh will be a deterrent. I'm very happy with this chair -- great price, well made, easy to assemble -- I hope to have it for many years and will update this if anything changes! ... show more

About this time last August, I bought a bonded leather chair from Staples. Within 3 months, I noticed a few surface cracks and at 4 moths, the bonded leather was peeling off like a bad paint job. When I spoke with the Staples manager about returning the chair, he seemed genuinely pleased that his company's policy only allowed returns within 14 days of purchase. 2 lessons: 1) Never buy bonded leather again; 2) Never buy anything from Staples again. A herniated disc made me rethink ergonomics, and Amazon reviews indicated this chair might be helpful for my back. Shipping with Amazon Prime got it here in Washington, DC the day after ordering. It well-packaged came in a big box of about 40 lbs.. The gray is neutral and sharp-looking, and there were no missing parts. The 8 screws, washers, hex wrench & screw caps come in a blister pack, all easy to identify instead of the bag of jumbled parts I was expecting. The major components are all substantial, with decent quality materials. The pieces are heavy, but they fit together easily. Having someone helping would've been nice, but not totally necessary. It's best to leave the screws loose until you have all of them threaded. Once assembled, I found the chair compact without being cramped. The height adjustment has a lot of travel and should suit most people. The seat is firm and my spine fits well with the back. The mesh fabric is a lot cooler than the simulated leather covering my old chair. Purchasing a chair over the Internet takes a leap o faith, but altogether this one seems like a quality product for not a huge sum of $$. So maybe give this chair a try/ And definitely don't buy anything made of bonded/pressed/fake leather--especially from Staples. ... show more
