Unbeatable for the price. It is made in China which I don't love, I must admit. I looked for the country of origin online but couldn't find info on it. Once it arrived the "made in China" tag saddened me. Enough about that, I must say the quality is very good and actually on par with the high end pans I own. It sits absolutely flat. It heats very evenly and retains heat well. The cooking surface is expertly polished and extremely smooth. I would advise a couple rounds of seasoning before use unless your first couple uses are to deep fry. It comes pre seasoned but the seasoning is just enough to prevent corrosion, I wouldn't consider it enough to start cooking with right off the bat. With that being said, it comes with good instructions and even a recipe to utilize the skillet with. The pan and the leather handle-cover for 30 dollars is certainly a bargain and a half, so I would recommend this piece of cast iron to anybody that cares to take the time to learn how to properly season a skillet. You won't find another polished cast iron pan of this quality for this price anywhere, I have searched. ... show more

No exterior seasoning, minimal interior. It is a cheap light cast iron what has been well polished on the interior for a smooth surface. Good cast iron will have a heavier feel and be seasoned inside and out for rust proofing. This arrived rusted. The pleather handle cover is polyurethane, not leather and melts quickly. Love this so much! I prefer rustic and hardy cookware living off grid. Yet I still want some style. This is beautiful! Wish there were more options from this brand.

It does say that it's polished, so I wanted to give it a try. It's not your normal average cast iron, which does make it easier to clean. I usually fry my steaks on a cast iron, and the first time I used this was to cook one up. I was a little surprised that after one use, the pan looked very used. I cooked my steak exactly the same way I would on a tradition cast iron, but the steak came out drier than usual. I gave it 2 tries, and the results were the same. ... show more

For the first meal I made with this pan I decided on burgers. They weren't particularly greasy burgers and I used med to high heat. When I first received the pan it looked immaculate and beautiful. I read the instructions, washed by hand put some oil in it and wiped it out with a lint free cloth. After cooking the burgers in it it looks awful. It looks like I have cooked a hundred meals in this thing instead of just one. I don't keep my pans out of a cabinet but this particular pan just looks horrible. It did cook the burgers but it also had a metallic smell to it like the coating was coming off or something. I will not be recommending this pan because of the looks after using it and the smell. ... show more
