  • Pleased
Although I couldn't get this to work on my TV, I connected it to a computer monitor, and it worked instantly (and perfectly.) So, i suspect the problem is with my TV. The unit was easy to hook up and easy to use. The unit is small ( a plus ) and nicely made --- and i was happy with the picture quality. I had two DVDs in the wrong format and it was nice to finally be able to watch them. The player worked great ---good value. ... show more

  • Works good for the price
I wanted an inexpensive DVD player for my camper since so many places I go don't have wifi for the streaming sticks, and I have a three year old and five year old that are always with me. This does the job. Easy to use and no issues so far. I do feel the need to add that I dropped the remote one time and it broke open. I was able to snap it back together, and it still works fine, but thought that might be important for other people with small children to know. ... show more

This player works perfectly but the remote has major issues and calling the company for help did nothing. I will be returning it!

  • Plays any region on a ntsc tv or a pal tv
The quality is very good. The remote has tons of features which could be confusing ( WARNING see below). If you want to play a region 2 disk, first know if your tv is NTSC or PAL. Never mind which of these the disk is, just know which of the 2 types of TV's you have. In the main setup menu: TV SYSTEM SCREEN SAVER VIDEO RESOLUTION TV TYPE PASSWORD RATING NEXT PAGE (on the NEXT PAGE menu item above): RESUME : whether you want the dics to resume where you left off next time. or return to the absolute beginning. DEFAULT (This is the RESET. It will return ALL settings and menu items to the original default. ----------- W A R N I N G ! ! : on the item above called TV SYSTEM (the very top item), if you have an NTSC TV (like most Americans do), and you select PAL, then you might not be able to ever use this DVD player ever again! Because the player will send a PAL output signal to an NTSC TV and nothing at all will display on your TV screen. Not a program you want to see and none of the menus. Without a menu, then you cannot get to the spot to change TV SYSTEM back to NTSC. Your player is now useless. This happened to me. Luckily I have an old composite input on my TV set as well as an HDMI input. Using the composite (3 connector RCA jack for L, R, Video) I could see a jumpy image of the menu on my TV which was enough to get back to the TV SYSTEM menu (using the setup key on the remote) and change PAL to AUTO. Now I can play any region disk And then at that point I went back to using the HDMI cable and HDMI input on the TV. If all this sounds complicated, it is not. If you can see the menu OK, then all will be well as long as you NEVER change the the setting in the TV TYPE menu. (The default setting is AUTO. Please leave it in that setting). This player is a cut above all the other inexpensive all region players that I have seen. ... show more

  • GREAT little DVD player at a reasonable price!
Amazon has this one on sale so we grabbed it. Worked right out of the box and soooo easy to set up. The one we had was dying a slow death and we needed a replacement. Megatek is the way to go!!! Picture quality is wonderful and the remote works terrific. Haven't had a need to call tech support, yet. Thanks, Amazon! :-) ... show more

  • Superb customer service
Like all DVD player brands in this price range, there is a danger that they will not last long. Mine worked perfectly for over 3 months and then stopped accepting discs. Every DVD inserted, including my laser-cleaning disc, brought up the message, "No CD", and it would not play. I had passed the Amazon return date but decided to describe the nature of the defect to Megatek. They replied to my email the same day with the promise to send out a new DVD player that day, which would have a new 12-month warranty. And it did indeed arrive from Amazon the next day. Now that is what I call an understanding, accommodating and efficient customer service! Thank you, Megatek! ... show more

  • Region Free DVD Player Delivers
This is a review of the Megatek DVD Player DP-260M55HD I purchased November 15, 2023. I have had the player for a little more than a month and a half. The reason I purchased this player is that my previous all region player had failed after 15 years of use. The Megatek can play all regions and it was priced attractively. Setup was a snap. One HDMI cable (supplied) connecting the player to the receiver was all that was needed to carry both the video and audio to my system which includes an AV receiver and HD television / monitor. After connecting the HDMI and plugging in the power cord, I inserted my Chinese region 6 disc and the program played just as I expected. Some things to note; The User's Manual is pretty good although its diminutive size means the type is also diminutive. I found the small print a little hard for my old eyes to read, but still adequate. One can go to the Megatek website and download a PDF version of the manual that can be printed out full sized and in color. The remote control is vital for using this DVD player. All the setup menus can only be accessed using the remote. It fits nicely in one hand with the most important buttons just under the thumb. The remote is a dark black plastic with very white lettering, which makes reading the buttons relatively easy. The forty or so buttons speak to the versatility of this DVD player. One oddity is there is no mention of the front panel display in the manual. Pressing the DISPLAY button on the remote cycles one through the front panel display modes: Title Elapsed, Title Remain, Chapter Elapsed, Chapter Remain and Display Off. This information is also displayed on screen. The front panel display also shows if you are playing a DVD or CD and if you are in play or pause mode. I also tried playing CD music discs and region 1 movies, which it did very well with. The CD side of DualDiscs that I tried played but took a long time to read. Based on my good experience playing region 6 discs, I would recommend this player for people with similar needs. ... show more
