    • It's small, cheap, lightweight, and IT WORKS!!!
Overall the DVD Player is small, lightweight, cheap and it works as expected to simply play DVD Movies. I installed it using the enclosed HDMI Cable between the player and the 2nd HDMI Port on the back of the TV. Overall, its a nice little unit and only time will tell how long it lasts. It has a MASTER physical power switch on the front of the DVD Player that must be enabled before the Power button on the remote will function. It appears to put the DVD Player into a standby mode using a little power. If you press the power button to the off position on the DVD Player, it appears to disable all power to the unit and the remote will not function at all. I suspect this was done to meet energy usage requirements demanded by various governments around the world. Overall, appears to be a good value at the moment. Time will tell if it really is. I think if it lives for 90 days or more beyond the common electronics devices infant mortality stage, it will probably work for a long time. ... show more

wow. this is the best dvd player i have found in a while! (& we've gone through quite a few) it has no limitations so now we can watch whatever movie from whatever country! it does spaz a little and can't read disk, i think this is maybe bc we have it running movies all day (even just as background noise) but a little on/off & back to normal! i also love that the remote doesn't change my LED lights & my LED remote doesn't disrupt DVD player as well. (I've had some go out before use just bc the LED remote reset something in the DVD player/dvd plaver remote, SUPER ANNOYING!!) highly recommend this DVD player if you're looking for one! :D ... show more

I bought this to replace a Blu-Ray Sony DVD player that stopped reading all discs. I didn't need BluRay so I opted for this. It has some nice features like AB repeat, HDMI, easy menu prompts, and quiet operation. The case is really cheap looking and feeling, but it sits in an area where it isn't on full display.     • What a piece of CRAP, I'm sorry to write
Three days before my time was up to return this dvd player, the picture started shaking, wobbling, snowing, flickering and popping. I thought it was because of the older dvd in it but that wasn't the problem. None of dvds worked in that player without the noise and terrible picture. Within a week this stupid region-free dvd player failed completely. As I was outside the time I could not return it, and the player clearly was a piece of junk with no viable way to fix it. I can't even give it to Goodwill! Then to add insult to injury I bought a different dvd player, which upon receipt looked exactly like this one but with a different brand name on it. This one started out popping, flickering, shaking and also made weird noises with the first dvd. Fortunately I was able to return this one and get my money back. After these two miserable experiences with these two miserable players, I re-evaluated my budget for a region-free dvd player and did even more research. I realized two things. One, a dvd player that plays blu-ray also plays regular dvds. Two, I have two other excellent region-free dvd players hooked up to two other televisions (one a smart tv, another a fire tv) and have had NO problems. The brand is SONY ... so I bought a third SONY. Now I'm content probably never buy another region-free dvd player as one SONY is five years old and the other is twenty years old. OMG! My DVD VCR combo my DVD player on my combo stopped working.The VCR works great but destroyed my DVD player you know how hard it is to find DVD's in today's World. So I found this it came and I could see my DVD's I will enjoy this, please get this regional DVD playing player. I am glad this works cause I have early DVD's from the early 2000's and most of my DVD's are not HD.So take a chance and get this device. ... show more

When I first started using this DVD player, I was very happy. The price was right and it worked fantastic. Even with problematic DVDs that would not play well on other players. But it only lasted about 1.5 years. It just stopped turning on. And even when it would sort of turn on, it would not function. The front buttons nor the remote would make it work. I even tried unplugging it to "reset" it as many online suggested. But no go. It's in the trash and I pulled out my 10-15 year old DVD player and it works just fine. ... show more

I’m very pleased with being able to upgrade my old dvd player and spending the same amount of money seven years ago. The best feature of this dvd player is the ability to use it without the remote control. My old DVD player became obsolete after the remote control was damaged over years of use. Also this new dvd player plays dvd discs from different world regions or zones, the previous dvd player didn’t have that capability. ... show more
