  • Works well! Great remote. Easy to use!
Style: With One Remote Control
This is a great little dvd player. It's small so it doesn't take up alot of space. The remote control is easy to use. Volume works well and seems like it was a good value for the money.

  • Works great!
Style: With One Remote Control
I haven't had any issues with this player. It was very easy to setup and it playback picks up where I left off. The OFF light stays On letting you know your saving power. I've had no issues with it freezing up on Me either. It's space saving and very easy to use. I've only used it twice, but I'll update if I have any issues. Otherwise, great value and user friendly. I've not experienced any of the issues others mentioned in the Reviews. I always read Reviews before I purchase anything! Great value! ... show more

  • Does the job, but has an opinion
Style: With One Remote Control
This is a nice cheap player that does the job and plays your movie. That was all we needed so this fit the bill. It worked well for about 9 months (we used it once or twice a week more or less) until the remote just gave out. We tried several batteries and it just would not work. The player still works fine, and we still use it, but without a remote we can’t set subtitles, select things, or rewind or forward. We just pop in a movie and press play and we’re committed. The player, when stopped, does save your spot with most DVDs, so that’s handy, but you never know which ones it won’t save. So basically, it works good for the price, but it comes with some quirks down the road. ... show more

  • Remote only works with DVD Player, not a smart TV remote
Style: With One Remote Control
Very simple to use and was exactly what I wanted, other than not being able to connect the DVD Player Remote to my Smart TV Remote. Very good and prompt assistance from the company.

  • ELECTCOM PRO ELC-1910: Amazing for the price
Style: With One Remote Control
I have not searched for a CD/DVD player since dinosaurs ruled the earth. But with a new 43" TV and Onkyo receiver and speakers in my bedroom, I found myself in the market for a new one. When I started looking in Amazon, I was amazed to find that the only ones available were all these tiny little things, about half the size of a receiver. And most ranged in price from $30-$40, or about 25% of what I remember paying the last time I bought one. Initially I took a shot on the Sony DVPSR510, at $39.88. It worked but that's about it. No on screen display (my bad, I should have noticed from the Amazon page) and not even LEDs to indicate what functions it was performing. By the time I realized that this was a significant drawback, it was too late to return it (Bought Oct 30, 2024 - could not return one month and one day later). So I looked for another one, and picked the one that had the largest front panel display, the ELECTCOM PRO ELC-1910, despite the facts that it had a bunch of 1-3 star reviews that were critical of almost everything about the unit, was made in China and who every heard of ELECTCOM anyway? The ELECTCOM PRO arrived a two days ago and I used the HDMI port to plug it directly into the TV. The TV is connected via an optical fiber to my sound system. CDs played great, and since the one and only connection is digital, it's not surprising that it sounded great. Today I dug out some DVDs and tried them. They worked great too. One does have to adjust the unit to output 1080p. For some strange reason (perhaps its origin in China) the default is 720p, which makes the image look horrible. Many of the reviews complained that it was difficult to set up and use. I do not understand that at all. It is neither. The ones that really worried me were the ones that said it either skipped, or wouldn't load CDs or DVDs, but I haven't found that to be the case. DVD played perfectly from the get go, no skipping or loading problems and the sound was (duh) just like the CDs I played. Full disclosure: I had one "homemade" DVD that I got from my son's school about 10 years ago that the player didn't like very much. So this is a great deal for $39.88. But when I looked a moment ago to check on the model to write this review, I saw that the price has decreased $11.19 a few days after I bought it so it now costs $28.79. I am certain that at that price (or even at $39.88) it can't be beat. Highly recommended. JM Tepper ... show more

  • It took two attempts, thought I was initially wrong, but ultimately proven right
Style: With One Remote Control
EDIT: Sadly, I turned out to be correct. It started having difficulty playing other Region 2 discs that were completely clean. And finally it seized up and wouldn't even open up the disc tray. I ended up sending it back. I have no idea what I'm going to get now, but it's definitely not this. Maybe your luck will be better. I initially ordered this at full price, as I have a large DVD collection and that includes Region 2 discs, as well. A region free player was my only choice. I went through numerous options on here, most being Chinese manufactured with poor video quality, and others being modified name brand that either couldn't truly switch regions (Panasonic) or looked no better than the Chinese ones (Phillips). So this unit here, my first time ordering, did not impress. Picture quality looked to flat with muted colors no matter how I changed the settings. While I was using an inexpensive projector, I've seen what decent players looked like on it, so I sent this back. Well, one projector upgrade (Epson Epiqvision) and several players later (all the aforementioned above), I see this on sale for $29 here. I stop at that price and just wonder "what if it was just a bad one?" Not every player is a Toshiba XD-E600 out of the box (still should have kept that), and quality control on these CLEARLY is mixed. So I tried this player one more time, and clearly I must have gotten a lemon the first go round. Out of the box, the color and sharpness looked far, FAR better. While I'm sure my Epson picked up some slack on the upscaling, I used my original test disc from last time: Desperado Special Edition. What was muted the last time finally looked correct this time. The opening scene FINALLY matched the tones I saw when playing the same disc upscaled through Panasonic DVD, Blu Ray AND 4K players upscaled. Even the opening credits, which normally became a pixelated mess when Antonio Banderas walks on the table past the large light panel, actually held together better this time without any real more this time. My only other test disc is Neo escaping his pod on Matrix Resurrections, which I'll check next time and update. The other test was Region 2, so I popped in A Touch of Cloth volume 1. Closed the tray.... No auto start despite that being the setting. I reopened and closed it again, nothing. And there's no setting to switch regions or set it to 0 (which I'm sure it's set at anyway). So for the hell of it, I changed the Video setting from Auto to NTSC. After I did that, I hit play - and it started. And it looked good too, so keep this in mind if you run into an issue playing an import disc. Forgive the long winded review here, but I'm a huge movie fan and I felt the info was necessary for others like me. Options for DVD players are shrinking as time goes on, and most don't have menu hacks to make them region free anymore (again, Toshiba was great for that), so finding something that isn't a waste of money is paramount. Yes, it's very light. Yes, it's basic as hell. Yes, the remote needs to be pointed at the player to properly register button inputs But so far, it works, it upscales very well, and it plays my imports. So if you buy one and aren't impressed, at least try another. You might see a difference. ... show more
