Description

Panasonic Region free DVD player, brings you a perfect picture and sound for all your favorite films at a low price. The player is equipped with above standard features like CD Ripping, which means you no longer have to worry. It plays PAL and NTSC DVDs from all countries. The Panasonic Progressive Scan 1080p Up-Conversion DVD Player supports DVDs, CDs and content stored on USB drives. This DVD player offers high-quality progressive scan playback, and can upscale standard definition content to near 720p, 1080i and 1080p resolution via its HDMI output. The HDMI output also supports CEC, which allows you to control other HDMI-CEC-enabled devices. The DVD-S700's composite video and stereo RCA outputs allow you to make analog audio and video connections to external display and audio components; an audio/video cable is included. For an enhanced audio experience, this model can decode stereo Dolby Digital sound and has a 192kHz/24-bit digital to analog converter. With a width of 12.3", this DVD player was designed to have a small footprint. 1080p up-conversion raises image quality by optimizing the pixel-count and brightness levels of lower-resolution content. This high-speed, high-precision circuit converts DVD video signals using 4-times oversampling for progressive scan playback and 8-times oversampling for interlace scan playback. The high-density conversion process is engineered to produce clear and detailed pictures with high resolution and a high signal-to-noise ratio. USB Connectivity The front panel USB port supports the playback of JPEG and MP3 files. It also has a Photo Slide Show mode for showcasing your stored photographs. Power Resume The power resume feature automatically creates and stores the chapter mark on certain intervals during playback of the contents in order to playback from the latest chapter marked when resumed from power supply problems. There may be about a 10-second difference from the actual point where the power was cut off.

  • Ability to handle any US and international format DVD
Seems to be a good overall product, although the controls were not as intuitive as I had hoped.

  • Excellent Multi Region DVD Player
Nice design, plays my older region 2 DVDs with a 4:3 aspect ratio as well as more recent USA region 1 standard DVDs beautifully. Using an HDMI cable (not included) have it connected to a recently purchased 43”Samsung 4K TV and it looks great (not 4K obviously but very good). As others may have mentioned it is a European market DVD player that’s been modified to be region free and the included plug adapter allows it to work in the US. Very happy with this product. ... show more

  • Revised
This was easy to set up. That’s the only good thing about it. The remote is horrible; all the buttons are little and jammed together. The picture quality is so bad; dark and pixelated, you can’t hardly see the picture. I have messed with the picture settings w/o any improvement in picture quality. This is not my tv, but the DVD player. Revised…. The player came w/ co axle cables, and no hdmi cables. On an impulse I found a hdmi cable and hooked it up; it fixed the issues and it plays just fine. I still kept one star off for this though. ... show more

  • Competent DVD player
Bought this because we still get a few Netflix DVDs to cover content not yet available streaming. It's a reasonably workable unit although with a few quirks. The remote covers all the functions, and we sometimes resort to it instead of our universal remote which doesn't have buttons for everything a DVD player can do. Quirk 1: When you pause a movie, the onscreen display does not show how far into the movie you are. This was present on other players we've used and is handy. There may be some obscure setting somewhere for this but haven't found it yet. Quirk 2: The player is very unpredictable as to whether it defaults to subtitles on or off for any given DVD. At least half the time I have to reach for the remote to kill the subtitles when a movie or series episode begins and starts to have dialog or other sounds. Overall, this unit is satisfactory for the current era when not all content can be streamed with the services we subscribe to. Some titles, such as recent theatrical releases and some classics, can be delayed as much as years or may never show up except as premium purchases, so having a DVD player seems a good and relatively inexpensive investment. This unit is not Blu-Ray, so people with larger TVs and who really want that level of quality will look elsewhere for the disc player component of their systems. ... show more

  • Panasonic is the best brand
Panasonic is the best brand when it comes to electronics. I searched for a very long time until I finally committed to buying a new dvd player. That is because I needed one to play my DVDs from Japan. I had Pokémon DVDs from another region I needed played and this dvd player did the trick. It was worth every cent. I usually budget but I didn’t want to go cheap on this because I wanted it to last me. I also paid the $7 for insurance incase of anything. Very worth it. Great seller. Highly recommend. Set up was easy. ... show more

  • Worth the money
My daughter purchased this "All Multi Region Free" DVD player because her older DVD player rejected a new set of TV seasons due to the region. It solved that problem and works for the new DVDs. However it does not play some of her older DVDs. She is happy enough because she can watch what she wants by occasionally switching to the older DVD player if needed. ... show more

  • This is not a USA product.
I've had this player for 24 hours, only played one DVD. The electric cord is extremely short. Initially, I was under the impression the user manual was only in foreign languages. I called the number listed in the product details on Amazon and it's a 3rd party parts supplier where I found out they do not service this unit. Finally reach Panasonic and there's no support for this unit. On the back on the manual for foreign languages there's a date of 2013-2015. When I contacted the seller asking for a manual in English and asked how old was this "new" player. They answered me, then blocked me. This morning gathering up the packing material the user manual in English fell out. The date on this manual is 2013-2019. No warranty card and will have to ask Amazon about the one I purchased. I have a couple of weeks to decide to keep it. I had read one review before buying this that stated it was a plug & play and that is very true & great. ... show more

  • 5 Star
I've gone through several DVD players in last couple years and this is the best one yet. For me the best option is that I can stop the player and come back next day and it restarts where I stopped the day before. My only problem is the size of the remote control. It is small and hard for my old hands to use. ... show more
