  • AS ADVERTISED
Style: AV Cable Connection
A very nice, light-weight, compact DVD player. Took 5 minutes to unpack and hook up to my TV. Didn't even need to read the instructions - just put the batteries in the remote control & started playing a movie. Seems to be well worth the price.

  • Works great EXCEPT that remote button labels are too faded & FAR TOO TINY TO READ!!
Style: HDMI
- Works great, great price. - Did NOT come with HDMI cable, I paid a few dollars extra for this model for the HDMI Yet still a great deal for 4 months of zero internet service over the CA winter in 2023. - CAN'T READ REMOTE BUTTON LABELS!! - Amazing extra functions, BUT CAN'T READ THE BUTTONS, SO CAN'T USE THEM! BAD: Text labels on the remote ARE FAR TOO TINY & FAR TOO LIGHT TO READ!!! Never had a remote this bad. It works, but it's labeling is USELESS, so the remote is virtually useless! Which means that all the AWESOME extra functions this device offers, they effectively cannot be used! You can try to memorize a few buttons you use most, BUT, you'd forget unless used daily. The tiny very light labels will certainly fade to nothing or rub off quickly. THEN you're out of luck. Player won't work ONLY because the buttons are unlabeled! You'll need a bright light & magnifying glass to operate the remote. You'll have to use it like an old fashioned TV before remotes existed. And won't be able to use advanced features. But, if you never rewind, pause, restart playback or use any of the amazing extra features is has, this works GREAT! ... show more

  • Made through 6 DVD's then bricked
Style: AV Cable Connection
First off this is a review for the item I received only. I realized I may have gotten a defective one so I've also written a summary assuming I didn't have issues. On the 3rd DVD viewed opening/closing the tray started making a strained grinding sound. When trying to eject the 6th DVD viewed the sound worsened and it powered off. Apparently the tray encountered too much resistance which caused the unit to power off. And of course the first thing that happens when you power the unit on is it cycles the tray, which leads to instant power off. I would give this unit a zero star if possible. Ripped it open to get my DVD back and threw this in the trash. Now assuming the unit continued to work as it did for the first 2 DVD's I watched I would give it 4 stars. It was quiet, easy to set up, and compact. The remote has an impressive multitude of functions including an internal volume (for the DVD player, not the TV which is really nice). On the flip side there are so many buttons on a small remote that they are small and the printing is tiny. Probably no issue if you still have young eyes. The one issue that cost it a star is the lack of physical buttons on the player itself. Without the remote you can only power the unit off/on and eject the tray. In other words if you lose the remote or it breaks this unit is worthless. ... show more

  • Compact and Reliable DVD Player
Style: HDMI
The Craig CVD401A Compact HDMI DVD Player has been a great addition to my entertainment setup. Its compact design is perfect for small spaces, and the sleek black finish looks modern and unobtrusive. Setup was a breeze – just plug it into the HDMI port on my TV, and I was up and running. The player is compatible with a range of formats including DVD-R, DVD-RW, and JPEG, which is a nice touch for viewing digital photos directly from discs. The included remote control is user-friendly and responsive, allowing for easy navigation through menus and settings. Picture and sound quality are both solid for a player at this price point. It handles standard DVDs without issues, providing clear visuals and decent audio. One minor drawback is that it lacks additional features like USB ports or smart functionality, but for a basic DVD player, it delivers reliable performance. If you’re looking for a straightforward, no-frills option for playing DVDs, the Craig CVD401A is a good choice. It offers good value for its price and meets the needs of those who want a compact and efficient player. ... show more

  • Last memory
Style: AV Cable Connection
The DVD player automatically has the play back memory off. It's in the instructions on how to turn it on so you don't have to start over every time. I turned it on . I tried and it worked. It's resumed!

  • Fits my needs
Style: HDMI
I purchased this compact DVD player for my MIL who is currently living in a very tiny efficiency. I wanted a compact player this is simple to use for a 70 year old. This really seem to be it. She really does best if she sticks to the basics. This DVD player actually provides a bit more features than just the basics, but it won't be too complicated to use. Update - it didn't work for her. First, it was really loud like you can hear the disk spinning loudly the whole time. Second, after getting it set up, she called and asked us why she can't hear anything even though the TV and DVD player had the volume all the way up. I haven't been over to see what happened, but the sound was fine when I installed it. So either something malfunctioned in a day of use, or it's too confusing for her to use and she pressed a button and doesn't know what she did. Either way, it's being returned. ... show more
