  • GREAT PERFORMANCE & VALUE
Style: DVD Player
Replaced an 18-year-old Panasonic DVD player that had expired with the Sony. Very straight forward set-up and operation, lots of features. We use it primarily for watching movies, one feature we like is if you stop the playback, eject the disk and turn off the unit, the next time you start to play the disk it goes right to where you previously stopped and resumes playing. Remote control is very intuitive, the Sony player performs very well would highly recommend it, great price as well. ... show more

Very simple player with no track display… has RCA connectors 👍🏿…very light so you should use the remote instead of pushing unit buttons

  • Old school dvd player. Simple to use.
Style: DVD Player
Needed a CD player for the sound booth at church. This filled the need, with proper outputs to connect to our sound board. (Adding a pair of 1/4 to rca adapters.). Better than a boom box! No display unless you are hooked up to a tv. But you can enter the track number you wish to play on the remote. Without the remote all you can do is play the entire cd. So keep track of your remote!! ... show more

  • Older TV? Here ya go (for a while)
Style: DVD Player
Our DVD player died. Our TV is about ten years old - no HDMI connection. My husband thought this was a fine reason to buy a new flat screen. In fact, he challenged me to find a DVD player that was compatible with our TV - I prevailed, but I must admit the options are limited. I think the handful of models I found all came out in 2012, so act fast or you will be buying a new TV. This one received the best reviews. It's fine - we're not asking much of it. It does take a long time after we turn it on before the eject will work - around 30 seconds by my estimate, which is a lifetime when a three-year-old is holding Frozen in her hand. On the flip side, it remembers where you left off even when the DVD player and TV have been turned off - a real time-saver if you have to take a break from the movie for dinner or bedtime. However, if you turn off the movie during the credits and want to watch from the beginning the next night, you have to catch it at the right moment and press Play twice or it'll pick back up at the credits and you have to go to the menu to get it to start over. A little confusing at first, but all in all the feature is more good than evil. Certainly worth the money if you want to buy some time before investing in the latest, greatest technology. UPDATE: March 2015: A couple months ago, movies started freezing. We thought the discs were damaged and we replaced two movies. Then last night we tried a movie we've rarely watched and it wouldn't come up on the screen (could hear the DVD player whirring away.) Took the disc to another player and it worked fine. Other discs work fine on this one - it's hit or miss. I pulled this review up to edit it and we're one day shy of a year. $30/year versus a new TV? I dunno. And I spent $30 on movies I probably didn't need to replace :(. ... show more
