These black and gold knives are a lovely addition to kitchen counter. As well. as being strong excellent knives that do a proper job of cutting (the weight is pretty good, they fit nicely in my hand) this gold set is remarkably pretty and very decorative. I do not put them in the dishwasher though. Chef's knives should never be put in the dishwasher anyway to save them from losing their sharp edge, and also I didn't want the gold finish to wear off from the forced rush of. water. Mine are two years old and they are still beautiful and only just now needing sharpening. All professional chef's knives need to be kept sharp and be given a good serious sharpening once or twice a year depending on how much they are used. Needing this upkeep does NOT mean that the quality of the implements is lacking in any way! The only problem with them that I can see is that they have nearly doubled in price since I bought them a couple of years ago but that is a general problem in these uncertain financial times. I love these knives. I was so hesitant to buy them cause they a coated and I thought they would peel easy. But they held up so well. I’ve had them for a few months and they still look new. I am careful with them though, I use them and hand clean them right away. They look beautiful on my counter!

The knives are great and really sharp, my husband keeps cutting his fingers on them. We didn't know that the knives could not come into contact with moisture for extended periods of time. And although we didn't leave it in water, we did leave it in the kitchen sink. as a result, we had one knife that lost its gold color. They look nice but I will update my review within a couple of months to see how the gold holds up. They were very affordable so I can’t complain. A couple of things kinda annoyed me with the product. The brand name logo in front of the case and how cheap the handles are.

For functionality, they’re great. Unfortunately after about 6 months of usage some gold is came off. Customer service offered replacements for the faded pieces. Couldn’t be happier with the purchase and the customer service.
