I absolutely love this knife! So much so, that I also bought the bread knife. The handle feels good in my hand and the blade is super sharp. The only problem I have is that these old arthritic hands get tired and hurt after using my utility knife for a while. I was curious if this was really Damascus steel and not laser etched so I did a bunch or research on this knife, the Hezhen brand, and other Chinese Damascus knife makers. This is real Damascus steel that is wrapped around a steel core. Overall, it’s a good knife, sharp out the box. The knife felt good and balanced. The Damascus pattern was attractive but I would like it if it was darker etched. This knife looked promising, but the quality is severely lacking. Despite the claims of using high-grade Damascus steel and advanced craftsmanship, the blade I received had visible imperfections and dull edges right out of the box. The supposed "super sharpness" was non-existent, and after just a few uses, it began to chip and rust.
