First: I opened the plastic seal and span the lid, there was product leaked out. Second: I was aiming for a silver/lilac color, this seemed like it would be perfect. Spent days reading my hair to a level 10. Toned out copper and yellow. Waited a day, then applied the Lunar White. I left it in for a bit longer then what it required but that seemed to do nothing. My roots for sure came out a beautiful lilac, but the rest of my hair looks frosty/ash blonde. I'm really disappointed and I don't know if I can even fix it without having to go back and bleach my hair. Bought a green as well in case this went south, but I'm not gonna give up yet. However, I won't buy Lunar white from this company again. *Edit - After talking with customer service, I was told this was a semi-permanent toner. Which had I known that, would not have bought it. Maybe that was my mistake. I’m new to trying to do pastel colors and thought this was a dye, not a semi-toner. However, I believe it should have been stated as a toner. The color ran for weeks whenever I washed my hair, but the color also never transferred to my clothes when my hair was merely towel dry. The green was initially fairly strong on my unbleached hair, but it faded away within a couple weeks to nothing more than a slight wash of color (I wash my hair every 4-5 days, so maybe three washes?). I did wash my hair initially a couple of times trying to get the color to stop running, so it likely would have lasted a bit longer without that. I still loved the look, and my bleached ends are still a pale green-blue 3 months later (the blue is leftover from my last color). I bought another jar and am planning to bleach my entire mane first this time. The color is lovely and goes on smoothly. Love this stuff! ... show more

This was my first time trying Lunar Tides, and I’m so happy with the results! I’ve been eyeing this brand for a long while and finally got a reason to buy from them. I was looking for a green dye that just looked green, not neon green, yellow green, or a dull green. Just green. My hair was dyed red/orange and bleached prior to application, and the color came out very well while not turning brown. Its a true green. It doesn't have much of a scent and applied like any semi-permanent hair dye I've used before. Will try other colors of this brand in the future. ... show more

I mixed cerulean sea with juniper green for a more emerald toned color. I applied over bleached hair, the color stayed vibrant for weeks on my mids and ends (my roots faded quicker because it was virgin hair and from washing) and when i was done with the color i actually had to bleach it out to remove it because it was still drastically green. When my hair was completely dry and I'd lay on a white pillow or literally on anything it would transfer, but the color was absolutely stunning and stayed for a long time. I’ve been using bright colors on my hair for 15 plus years. Because of this, I know what to expect from most semi-permanent hair color. I usually use professional brands like pulp riot, and even that fades and sometimes looks patchy. The truth is there are so many variables for how a product like this will look and last. Your color, length, porosity, other products you use, the water in your shower, how often you wash it, how much you sweat and exercise etc. Semi-permanent color does NOT penetrate and deposit into the hair shaft, so eventually it’s going to fade because it’s just sitting on top of your hair. If you’re using a darker more pigmented color it is 100% going to bleed. I lift my hair to a level 10 where it is very pale yellow and still sometimes when I color it the outcome isn’t even close to the swatch. This is just how it goes. Bright funky colors are super high maintenance. With all that in mind I took a leap and ordered the neon tangerine. I loved the smell right away, playing with the color before I applied it to my hair I was worried there wasn’t enough pigment but it worked very well (again, my hair is super light already.) I do think it’ll need to be touched up every week but I workout every day and shower at least twice a day and because my hair is short I have to at least rinse it to get the sweat out. Next month when I re do my hair I am going to try another color from this brand and see how it goes but for now I am happy by managing my expectations :) ... show more

I got the orange to cover some patchy bleaching spots a color remover left behind, and it blended in great! I'm naturally a dark blonde. It didn't stain my shower and smelled nice compared to some other dyes I've tried recently. I'll definitely be trying a different color.
