I build custom RC airplanes and wide variety of other crafts such as steampunk boxes, signs, and more. I have few other open frame laser engraver / cutters, and this is my new favorite. It's well made, powerful, and fast. Assembly is easy if you follow the instructions - video tutorials which are included on a thumb drive. If this is your first laser, be patient and follow the directions, it will be a good learning experience. I've tested this with a variety of materials utilizing Lightburn and LaserGRBL and the Longer B1 40w surpassed all my other machines. I did have an issue early on where my machine would randomly stop causing a split-second panic. I reached out to Longer who are very helpful, knowledgeable, and quick to respond. They helped me troubleshoot the problem and narrowed it down to a firmware update which was simple to install. Since then my Longer B1 has been getting quite a workout and I love it. I did a ton of research on which laser to purchase. I landed on choosing Longer B1 30W since the 40W could not be shipped to my location. So far I am super impressed with the device and how well it performs and how easy it was to setup and get using. Longer company has a ton of helpful documentation and their support help group is very responsive to any questions I have had. I’m using the B1 40W laser for a small business venture and I’m very happy with its performance so far. The assembly instructions weren’t great- I found a YouTube video that was very helpful. I use it with Lightburn software and am able to create several items per day. Also got the enclosure and have vented it with 4 inch dryer ducting to send the smoke/fumes outside. It’s working great. I am used to CO2 lasers. Since I moved to a small space, this was a better option. The actual cutting area is bigger than my last CO2 machine. 40 Watts on this machine Cuts better, thinner and deeper than the 60 watt CO2 I last had. I registered light burn today after a 30-day trial. I like it better than the ruida software Overall this thing is a winner. The only change I would make is the thumb screws to raise and lower the laser head for different thicknesses of material. They are a little tough to get at and secure. A minor complaint, and I'm sure I will figure out a solution. I would recommend this to a friend. ... show more

I purchased this laser I have a 10W and the rotary from Longer and they work great. I wanted something that would work a bit faster. This 30W was a great choice. It's more accurate than a CO2 laser because the focus is pin point. Assembly is simple with with well fitted parts. Its easy to use and makes great cuts just like you would expect.
