The size is perfect for fried eggs and if used as recommended by Lodge, they don't stick. It would also be the perfect size for a large chocolate chip cookie that's baked in the oven. Lodge is so versatile. Very cute, and of course, well made.

This is lovely due to it honoring Dolly Parton. She is one of my idols and it is such a classic! It is very heavy and is hard to lift often, so it would be great as a memorabilia piece. Also, there were some stains on the side so I cleaned them but not sure what it was from. Overall, I would say that it is simply for Dolly Parton that I am happy with this skillet as opposed to something that I would use in the kitchen often. ... show more

Pro: +Great preseasoning! +Smoother surface than my other brand new lodge skillets, even! It may be luck of the draw, but I’m pleased. Con: -Some small scratches on the surface that expose the iron and necessitate a lot of seasoning. I don’t know if all of them are so damaged, but I’ll hope it was just mine. This is our third Lodge cast iron skillet. We trust the brand and have never had issues with their skillets. This one is smaller than our other ones. It came pre-seasoned and has a beautiful design on the back, a symbol of Dolly Parton. The design does not affect the cooking temperature of the food. What I will say is that, having another skillet with a design similar to this one, there needs to be extra care with the cleaning and seasoning. If you don't get into the nooks and crannies then you will start to notice rust. I know this is a great skillet for decoration, but it is also a good size for pancakes and brownies or a small cake. This is a nice, solid skillet from a well-regarded brand. This pan is small (only 8" diameter), but it's well made and has an adorable Dolly Parton pun molded into the base. The interior of the pan is flat, so the decoration does not effect it's use. It cooks just like a regular skillet without the decoration. Is this cute, small skillet worth the $30 price tag? If it were a 10" skillet, my answer would be yes. I'm on the fence about that price tag for an 8" skillet. ... show more

I have to admit, I wasn’t specifically looking for this pan when I came across it. But it was so random, funny, and cute, I snagged it for review! I had no idea Lodge made novelty cast iron like this, and it turned out to be the perfect gift for a Dolly Parton fan in my household. If you’re looking for a gift that is high quality AND functional, this could be it.
