Beautiful piece of Le Creuset in a new color for me, the Oyster. I have many pieces of Le Creuset and all different colors and this one is new to me. The color is beautiful. Pan size is great. Glad I did not buy the large one as this is big enough for one or two of us. Nice and sturdy, made in France. Will work great for roasting a beef roast, a chicken or a noodle dish.     • Notable product discrepancies versus ordering directly from LeCreuset site

Some observations / differences between the Amazon ordered 5.25 qt cast iron roaster and one I ordered at a later date from the manufacturer's website. I ordered the LeCreuset from Amazon as I "needed" the roaster on short notice, and the manufacturer's website was sold out. The product arrived, and the LeCreuset packaging / box was not sealed. Whether this was a "display model," or a previous returned item, I have no idea. There are multiple chips in the enamel coating around the top edge of the roaster. I waited writing a review of the Amazon ordered item until an identical item was ordered and received from the manufacturer's website. It arrived in a sealed box, and the roaster was wrapped in a protective wrap inside the famous orange LeCreuset box. Second observation - the logo on the bottom of the roaster. The Amazon ordered roaster - the logo imprint is "out of focus" and poorly imprinted in the cast iron. The roaster from LeCreuset - the logo is extremely sharp in appearance and can be clearly seen and read. Owning several pieces ordered directly from the LeCreuset site, ALL pieces, zero exceptions, covering 15+ pieces, the imprinted logo on the bottom of each piece is very clearly imprinted. I'm not sure why the differences exist, or what caused the differences on the Amazon supplied roaster, but I will use better judgement when ordering such items in the future. A return was not initiated by me upon delivery and unpacking because, as stated in the beginning, the roaster was needed at that time.
